Key Largo, Florida

Friday's lunch, chowder at the Tin Fish, across from the convention center. Told my boss I needed a break, and since I was going to spend the next 2 days manning the booth without him, it's a good time to slip out for some seafood and beer. (that's a New Belgium Fat Tire Amber ale in the glass)

 

Here's a tip for convention-goers. You can skip the long lines at this restaurant, just walk in and sit at the bar, where you can also order food. You may have to order a beer or two, but there are worse fates.

I was going to photograph the whole meal, but I got distracted by eating. After the chowder there was salad, then corn and peas and peppers, then ham and "mountain rice". Hut food is tasty.

OK, so the Tin Fish chowder is as good as always. But this leads to Problem #2: the chowder was the best part of my meal, so I saved half of it for dessert. It got sort of cold, which is less than ideal. But still delicious.

good, but needs more jalapeño, even though I used a whole pepper rather than the half called for by the recipe. also I added some smoked paprika.

I LOVE CHOWDER. This is good stuff.

Something tells me the only info he could give you would be places to eat.

Forgotten e name of e eatery.. it's at citylink mall, a place with lots of soup.

Billy's Chowder House, Wells, ME. Home of, in my opinion anyway, the best clam chowder in the world.

Smoked haddock, mashed potato soup, samphire, sauteed potatoes, crispy cockles, bacon, egg yolk.

This was a tablet test for my new device.

Driving from Malagash to Wolfville Nova Scotia ... we stopped en route at the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park with a particular mission in mind ... to see a moose. I had never seen a moose in real life.

 

It is situated on Highway 102, just a short 45 minutes away from Downtown Halifax.

 

First stop ... breakfast at the Chowder House Cafe in Tatamagouche.

I know this isn't a great photo... but it's strangely important to me.

This was at our first meal in Boston.

My mom got this clam chowder and my dad and I both got hot lobster rolls.

I literally started crying when I ate.

The food was SO GOOD.

I miss good food and living on the coast where seafood was both good quality and reasonably priced.
