A hearty and creamy chowder with all the flavors of buffalo wings. The recipe is found here www.closetcooking.com/2011/11/buffalo-chicken-chowder.html Served with smoked gouda topped french bread.
Friday's lunch, chowder at the Tin Fish, across from the convention center. Told my boss I needed a break, and since I was going to spend the next 2 days manning the booth without him, it's a good time to slip out for some seafood and beer. (that's a New Belgium Fat Tire Amber ale in the glass)
Here's a tip for convention-goers. You can skip the long lines at this restaurant, just walk in and sit at the bar, where you can also order food. You may have to order a beer or two, but there are worse fates.
Margarita flavored cupcakes decorated with hand cut and hand painted fondant toppers. These are for a friend who loves the cartoon "Chowder".
I was going to photograph the whole meal, but I got distracted by eating. After the chowder there was salad, then corn and peas and peppers, then ham and "mountain rice". Hut food is tasty.
OK, so the Tin Fish chowder is as good as always. But this leads to Problem #2: the chowder was the best part of my meal, so I saved half of it for dessert. It got sort of cold, which is less than ideal. But still delicious.
recipe from Mitchell, p. 74. with homemade hot sauce from a recipe in the Times.
good, but needs more jalapeño, even though I used a whole pepper rather than the half called for by the recipe. also I added some smoked paprika.

Day 244/365. March sandwich of the month: Reuben melt -- lean corned beef, not too sour sauerkraut, Russian dressing, and Swiss cheese. Substituted cole slaw with "New England" clam chowder (obviously Manhattan). Another amazing sandwich. $10. Melt, Independence, OH.
"Caribbean Corn Chowder: A rich soup with a spicy kick, topped with roasted pimentos."

Watch (who has returned to this household two days ago): Everyone looked about the same. But .. Cat in the Laptop, have you expanded?
Cat in the Laptop: No? But my picture has. Because Laptop is a different one.
Laptop: Yep. Previous one is smaller. I arrived this household 4 days ago. What happened to you?
Watch: Oh I lost my face and so affected my hands movement. The cook did not know where I lost my face and could not find my face and even if she did find my face
Stopped Watch: She would have no idea how to fix it back.
Watch: Exactly. So I went to rehab.
Stopped Watch: Must be the place that the cook brought me to last time but I was beyond repair ..
Watch: I guess so. So, something new here. New Laptop!
Wallet: Ordered on Sunday, shipped out on Monday, arrived on Tuesday. The courier man whom the cook usually sees around 7am+ at Lam bton Quay when the cook goes for the second walk to get second breakfast and also check if ex-neighbor at B street is available to be seen, was the courier man who delivered New Laptop. If you compare the delivery of previous one and the new one. This is super fast delivery!
(Previous Laptop in the living room: Hey I'm not in the dining room does not mean I cannot hear what you all are saying! It wasn't my fault that I arrived late last time because I was the replacement for the first one that went missing!)
Reading Glasses: Although the cook took a number of evenings before this model was noticed and because it already has what the cook wants and does not need customization, does not exceed 1.7KG, could be sent out in 2 working days, and also it is cheaper than the others that the cook had thought of getting. In fact, it is only $100 more expensive than the previous one, but with disk -> SSD, RAM 4GB -> 16GB, i3->i7 (those that matters to the cook) all upgraded.
Wall: And Scarf is back too. Someone has been trying to remind the cook to report the status of Scarf officially in the picture world, since it was reported by the cook unofficially to the background team that it was found.
Scarf: Yep. I bet day after the cook realized she lost me she went to Lost and Found and luckily I was there waiting... be cause I was lucky enough to be picked up and returned to the station. What if she did not notice that she lost me?
Jacket: Sigh. Then you will not be with me like you are now.
Kitchen Towel: By the way I am covering Sourdough but the Sourdough still can breathe.
Sourdough on the plate: Yep it's today's news that the man who could not breathe, .. and someone hinted to prefer to have Sourdough with clam chowder.
Stopped Watch: We had a discussion about the man who could not breathe matter last year. I doubt he could come back to life.
New Laptop: Correct. That won't be possible. It's today's news. The family will receive compensation US twenty seven million from the city where he was murdered by the police officers. No sentence for the main police officer who murdered him yet. Case currently going on.
(Everyone went quiet for awhile)
Vacuum Flask: Is that all the news for the past one week?
Spider Plant: What do you want to know? There are too many.
No one knows how to start because really there are really too many to mention.
New Laptop: I think I will restart, or prepare to restart. There are updates to install and they take time, though should not take as long as the issues in the real world, should be as short as within 3hrs, unless .... wish me luck. I should be back. Have a good day!
delicious
a nice peppery kick. I like that about Moxie. It doesn't happen too often but it happens much more than at other area contemporary American restaurants
