MacroMonday Assignment: The Child Within Us

Once upon a time, in a small town in the middle of nowhere, I had a lollipop in my mouth nearly every day, much to the chagrin of my mother, who was a dental hygienist. Once I would get to the point when I couldn't be patient anymore, I'd crunch into it, much to the distress of my father, who would cringe at the sound of "teeth breaking." Today I find myself avoiding the sugary pops mainly due to the automatic "sugar will make you fat" thoughts that are constantly popping into my head.

Over 60 early childhood educators came together to learn and launch a campaign supporting a universal, accessible and affordable childcare system in B.C.

I found these kids wondering around a temple in Bagan, Burma.

The Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Frances Fitzgerald TD today launched the Irish Childhood Bereavement Network which has been set up to support those working with grieving children and young people. Based on a UK model, the Irish Childhood Bereavement Network will act as a hub for those working with bereaved children, young people and their families in Ireland. The aim of the network is to facilitate easy access to a choice of high quality local and national information, guidance and support to enable children to manage the impact of death and the loss in their lives. The Irish Hospice Foundation has agreed to host the Network for the first two years and will seek to source funding for its ongoing development.

is not only the childhood we really had but also the impressions we formed of it in our adolescence and maturity.

that is why childhood seems so long

probably every period of life is multiplied by our reflections upon the next .
