I have been photographing chickens and roosters at a friends hobby farm. I had no idea there were so many beautiful feathered chickens. More to come.
Found these chickens at the Tonka fence ranch. They truly were free range chicken. They kept following me across the road. I guess they thought I had food.

During our evening walk to Gunwharf, we went to Nandos for the first time! (We had planned on having a cheap meal in Burger King, but the queue was so slow and there seemed to be only one person serving! Luckily Gunwharf is full of restaurants!)
This was a Chicken Platter for 3, shared between Tim, Matt and me!
A friend owns the most beautiful chickens in a most beautiful yard surrounded by 5 foot tall tomato plants, pear and apple trees, corn, HUGE squash plants and the makings for salsa. Thanks, Lucy, for letting me visit!
Great smile in spite of being in a fowl mood. He came to the lumber yard to pick up a few birds. The owner of the sawmill handles the wood, his wife sells chickens.
Chickens aren't especially clean or intelligent animals, but there's something appealing about their presence.

Yuanyang County is located in Honghe Prefecture in southeastern Yunnan province, China, along the Red River. It is well known for its spectacular rice-paddy terracing. Part of the area now forms the 45th World Heritage Site in China.
This is one of the two small old chicks given to me as a present a by an old lady in the village exactly a year ago ( July 2014) . What can I do but accept them. Now a hen, has laid many eggs . the latest news it has 5 chicks :)
I don't know what to do with them. I see these animals with souls. When I look at their eyes - i know they have little souls in them :)
If I were to boucher an animal everytime I eat meat -- I think I gonna go vegetarian. :)
I noticed a plastic tie still on her leg, that was from the old lady who had this chicken tied up. Have to ask them to cut it off her leg.
BTW everywhere turned green in July because of much rain.
