When visiting Germany chickens were showing up many times in unexpected places. My cousin decided to gift me some chickens for special occasions. The egg basket was made for me by my maid-of-honor...so collectively with the milk bottles this watercolor holds many memories. Enjoy!

A very slim chance of their escape from these guys on motorbike.
I smelled chicken Adobo and curry.
Location : Bantayan Island, Central Visayas, Philippines
I took this photo whilst on sightseeing by motorbike around Bantayan Island
awhile back in 2010, and spotted these guys with chickens.
Not the best photo to show off but I was convicted to keep this image rather
than discard it. I don't see this scene everyday and I find this image depicting
some character of village life, maybe some hint of animal cruelty which blinded
people through distorted meaning of human superiority over animals , eroding
responsibility and care in handling these little creatures under our dominion.
If you love and have respect of animals, this can be heartbreaking .
I kept this in reflection, with some contentious road of thoughts and
sympathy of what our chicken roasts, chicken curry, been going through their
little lifespan behind the scenes. Most live in cramp cruel confinement in battery cages, obviously
don't live a nice short life. But despite this compelling image ,
I'm still headstrong with my refusal to convert to vegetarian diet.
Being grounded by Biblical teachings, I live by faith, which also reflects
the food I ate.

Here's a prayer against witches! Psalm 109 is a reflection of these prayers against your enemies that intends to harm you. I do always pray against witchcraft , that any spells cast against me ,ill wishes, Satanic rituals and curses against me and my household will be put back in reverse upon the source . Finish the prayer in the name of Jesus. If you are not born again in the Christ, you need to now by accepting Jesus as your Lord and saviour .

I embroidered this for the center of a pillow I'm making for my daughter for her birthday on 9/17. It's a vintage pattern (I think) that I found in one of my binders of patterns that I have collected.

Had some leftover Beer Can Chicken and thought it might enjoy a bath in some Chipotles in Adobo, fire roasted tomatoes, sweet creamed corn, a minced Jalapeno chili, some onions sauteed in chili powder....and, of course, an iced cold beer. to wash it all down. : ))

The Kauai chickens provide a new perspective — domestication in reverse. Local lore is that many of the Kauai chickens are descendants of birds that escaped when Hurricane Iwa in 1982 and then Hurricane Iniki in 1992 blew open coops. (Feral chickens are found on other Hawaiian islands, but not in overwhelming numbers.

We have three chickens in the yard, but the third one was camera shy. The orange one is my favourite. They come to visit me while I have morning coffee on the back porch. Really cool birds.
