On evening of Sunday July 17th 2022 , Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s office deputies Nathan Milton and Deputy Christian Williams arrested a 23 year old Male from Colorado . Sheriff’s office Lieutenant Dolly King Told the Herald that Deputies was alerted to a stolen pickup at a local motel . When deputies arrived ,the suspect took off leading them on a short chase .The chase ended a few blocks later , the man was taken in custody without further incident and was booked into the county detention center on a number of charges from NM and CO . Lt King noted the owner of the truck had tracking devices on it .
With Eagle lake reopened for day use only ,business is starting to pick up a little at Cat’s Marine and Auto repair just north of community Eagle lake . It’s little after sunrise on this Wednesday February 12th ,2020 . We see Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s office Deputy Scott Doald headed along Old Mill rd in the central part of the county . Yesterday's snow storm that lasted into the night . Closed government offices and caused schools to be dismissed earlier and by 4pm most side roads were closed. Local First responders and road crews were kept busy.
By evening most of the snow will be gone in its place lots of mud and wet ground . As life turns back to normal .

Hazzard Range county Sheriff's office have announce arrest in two days of mayhem in southern part of the county Undersheriff Bradley Gore told the Herald that 23 year old man was arrested on 10 counts of criminal property damage. From fences to stock tanks,vehicles to vehicles was damaged in 2 day period
On Thursday March 8th ,2018 around 4:30 PM , sheriff's Deputy Andy Gather notice a Jeep XJ speeding down southwest on Territory st ,right as call came in about vehicle break on Church st . Deputy Gather took purist . after few laps around the village of Fort Hazzard . County sheriff's Sergeant Butch Soto and Deputy Gather was able to box suspect in at the Intersection of Fort and Jackson .He was taken into custody without incident. He currently beheld at the county detention center.

As Inter County railway ( ICR ) "Rock train " slows into the Sparta Yard on this warm Thursday Oct 11th 2017 afternoon . Sparta is County seat of Hazzard Range county . These 5 hopper cars of rock and two empty boxcars along with a covered hopper will be connected to Sparta - Nelson turn . When the train arrives in Nelson ( in Sweetwater county ,the county to north of here ) where it will be interchanged with BNSF .

Sweetwater County fire crews are battling a bosque fire between the community of Pass and BNSF bridge over the Rio Grande . Sweetwater County Undersheriff Jordan Garate Told the Tribune that NM 168 is closed and four county volunteer fire depts are on scene .

On this 73 °F Saturday Feb 2,2018 afternoon .We see Boom Police sergeant Lee Castillo initiating a traffic stop on Boom rd Just inside the city limit .

On this humid and warm Saturday July 10th,2021 late morning ,We see locals and visitors taken in the Founder's day car show here in Sparta, the county seat of Hazzard Range county . The celebration takes place around the 28 June every year to celebrate the founding of Hazzard Range county way back on June 28 , 1883 ,but this year it was moved because weather and other scheduling conflicts
Besides a car show ,there is a Parade ,rodeo ,vendors and live music. Scene takes place on Old Mexico / NM 308 ,which is close to traffic for the day.
Some people we see are next to the Ram 1500 County Sheriff Troy Forbes ( in Brown ) and Lieutenant Bubba Sanchez ( in white ) talking with retired county Undersheriff Bill Gillospie ,whose family owns a small sheep ranch in the county . We also See Court security and Civil Process Deputy Harry Martia unit; he along with Deputy Andy Gather are working security for this event .
On this Friday July 7th,2023 little after 2pm . We see Hazzard Range Community Health center EMTs transporting NM 14th Judicial District Attorney's Office Assistant Trial Attorney to an ambulance to be transported to ER after suffering a heat related incident outside County Government Center that also houses the County Magistrate and Probate along with 14th District Courts.

Hazzard Range county Sheriff's office has a tool to track and slow down speeders . Sheriff's Lieutenant Bubba Sanchez told the Herald that ,the mobile speed radar trailer ,that tells drivers how fast they are going ,also has data recorder that logs how many speeders went by and their actual speed . Lt Sanchez also note that the trailer was obtain through a grant and this will help the Sheriff's office and State police to have data where speeding is the worst .That helps put officers where needed and just reminder to people to slow down .

Boom Police Chief Stanley Chavez and Officer Lisa Fuentes assisted the Boom Volunteer Fire and Rescue dept Fire along with Apache Regional Medical Center EMS station 3 with a Car vs pedestrian accident a half north mile of Beach St and Main Street intersection on Water RD.
Two juvenile victims flow to Apache Regional Medical Center in critical condition one 56-year-old female was arrested.

Stanley is Grandson of first Boom police Chief Sam Chavez who was chief from July 1950 to Feb 1959. Stanley was in Military for some years and is retired ( 1998 to 2018 ) Apache police Dept Captain.

Muddy Spring Population of about 1500 ,it is also located 14 miles north of the county line and is about 18 miles south of Apache, the county seat of Apache county.

On radio KRTK radio personality Shelby Potter reads the 7 days forecast that is warm and dry ,

In Special meeting on Friday Dec 22 ,2017 of Boom City commission vote 2 for and 3 against renewing city police Chief Glen Roberts contract . The next action the commission vote 3 for and 2 against the immediate termination of Chief Roberts. With that the Commission adjourn. .

Boom Mayor Howie Gracie told the Journal ,that Captain Willie Roberson was asked to be interim Police chief ,but decline as did sergeant Lee Castillo .
Former Chief Glen Roberts was as he was living the police station for comment ,but he reminded silent as he walked to his personal vehicle . It has been no secret over the last year Roberts and City commission have been at odds . To keep Roberts was Commissioners Rick Gram and Tonia Chavez and three vote to termination was Shaw Difet , Randy Kette and Mayor Howie Gracie.

City manager Alvin Alten issued a press release ,saying 89 year old former County Undersheriff ( 1970s-1980s ) Bernard Lockson has been name interim police Chief.

On this chilly Wednesday Jan 25 ,2023 morning . We see Hazzard Range County sheriff’s office Court security and Civil Process Deputy Harry Martia headed for court from his newly assigned unit, a 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit that replaces 2008 Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor. With that change in the last week leaves only one Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor in the fleet .Its 2010 assigned at moment to Court security and Civil Process Deputy Allen Clark.
The Court is in the County Government Center located on the third flood and is the county seat of Sparta . We also Hazzard Range Inn owners Glen and Lisa Roger talking with Eagle Lake construction about some upgrades they plan to do to the 100 year old inn

Law Enforcement officials from Hazzard Range County Sheriff's office ,New Mexico State police and New Mexico State park rangers ,were dispatch to 400 block of Main st /NM state rd 168 in Sparta at 6:32 AM Thursday June 28th ,2018 to a report of shoots fired in alley way by Desert Arts.
Sheriff Troy Forbes told Herald that Deputies arrived on scene found a male in his 60s had fired a few arounds from the alley into traffic . Deputies and other Law enforcement secured the scene and evacuated the block including the Hazzard Range Hotel also the street was closed . Sheriff Forbes went onto to say that the Sheriff's Investigator Matt White was talking with the Man who had a gun to his head . White and State Park Ranger Baja keep talking with him and around 9 AM, then man put down the gun and was taken into custody by Sheriff's office Immediate Response Team (IRT) Members . He taken to Apache County General hospital ( south of Hazzard Range ) to get Mental help . Sheriff Forbes lastly added that the Local Law Enforcement has been contact with this gentlemen before and with state of mental help in NM and country is not good and it took act of this type to get him help he needs .
