The third generation of the C/K series ran under the Chevrolet and GMC brands, model years 1973-91 as the longest production version of the CK, and second longest US pick truck behind the Dodge DW Series RAM. Adopting the Rounded Line moniker by General Motors the third generation C/K expanded its product range to a four-door crew cab pickup truck for the first time alongside the traditional two-door pickup and chassis cab trucks.
The Rounded Line trucks underwent a mid-cycle redesign for the 1981 model year. Largely in response to the 1979 energy crisis, GM engineers again turned to wind tunnels to further reduce areas that hindered air flow and caused drag. along with shedding nearly 300 pounds of curb weight from the model line. While design changes were largely evolutionary (to preserve sales of the highly profitable model line), the body of the C/K trucks was completely reshaped forward of the windshield the front fenders were reshaped to include a lowered hood line (relocating the side marker lights); the windshield wipers were now exposed. As part of the body facelift, the 1981 C/K pickup trucks received new grilles and redesigned front bumpers; Chevrolet grilles were split in the middle by a silver/black bar, with GMC grilles divided into ten squares. Square headlights became standard for the first time; base-trim trucks were fitted with two headlights and upper-trim trucks received four headlight

As Muddy Spring Police Dept ( MPD ) Sergeant Joey Dunn heads into Zack's Convenience Store to grab some lunch with wife Erica who is manager for this store branch .
Deputy Fernandez found that the motorist couple is waiting on tow and advices them to go inside the store to wait out of the heat .
Sergeant Joey Dunn has been with MPD for 11 years now and has been married to Erica 15 years.
Deputy Helen Fernandez has been with the Sheriff’s Office since February 2019 before that she worked for MPD from September 2017 to Jan 2019 and previously with the Sheriff's Office from Aug 2012 to Aug 2017.
Muddy Spring is a village with a population of about 1500 ,it is located 14 miles north of the county line and is about 18 miles south of Apache, the county seat of Apache county.
In 1985 Muddy Spring was incorporated as a Village and in 2016 state of NM and County of Apache sign off on the village of Muddy Spring annexation of two subdivisions of Lower and upper Kings Creek Canyons Also part of deal annexation was state and county own land .On both sides of the Muddy Spring exit on I 25 is now part village ,along with 1 mile of state rd 33 west of 25 and kings creek rd for 5 miles that leads to Lower and Upper Kings Creek Canyon subdivisions Spring cemetery that located on mesa east of the village was also part of the annexation.

Two people were transported to Hazzard Range Community Health Center ER with Non-Life-Threatening Injuries. Martinez Brothers Express Towing recovered the vehicle .

On this breezy sunday March 21,2021 midday we See Boom Police dept Officer Ron Brook headed into the city hall to check on the security alarm going off . It turns out to be a false alarm caused by the wind .
We also see the American and NM flags flying at half-staff after President Joe Binden order to show respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on March 16, 2021, in the Atlanta GA Metropolitan area that killed 8 and wounded 1 .

Hazzard Range county fire crews and Sheriff’s office are on scene of another brush fire ,this time near the junction of West river ,Cross cut ,Old Shell and Old cat rds . Emergency Services Administrator Davis Hokrer told the Herald that the fire is estimated at 4 acres and burning mostly along the Rio Grande .

Emergency Services Administrator Davis Hokrer updated the Herald saying that fire is contained at 15 acres and burned one outbuilding . The fire is under investigation and the fire burned on federal and private lands .
