So I was becoming increasingly unhappy as I worked on The Card Cheat with the colors I did for the first six pages. It was all muddy and full of photoshop looking stuff...
I went and found a Photoshop palette of the original 124 colors used to color comics (pre Photoshop), adjusted to be as accurate as possible based on a couple of resources I found, and started fresh.
Much better. I still need to tweak the smoke a bit.

Pencils for page two of the Card Cheat, issue one.
Lettering at pencils ensures that I've left enough space for dialogue, allows the author (Marc in this case) to make any tweaks that he thinks it's needs, and let's me starting making design choices.
It's like Lettering in Pencil too.
I used Krusteaz pancake mix to make these muffins. I did add some wheat germ, oat bran and flax seed meal . . . but they are still mostly white flour mix . . . hence the "cheater" title. I don't usually use such things but did this time. C'est la vie - they were still tasty.
