Haha, this photo cracks me up. Don't feel too sorry for her. I asked her to give me a serious face and instead she pouted on purpose. In the next frame, she's laughing and saying, "Haha, I cheated you!" meaning she tricked me. It was pretty funny. But looking at this pict, it's hard for me to feel cheated, lol! Though she is a surprisingly good little actress.
Editing here is my soft color pop made a little vintage and then a texture added from my worn set.
Is it cheating if she hangs on to the stem of the flower instead of just hovering? Female Anna's Hummingbird.
Went out with Buggs, Shadowbomb, mad-eye p!e, mhsneon, Kevin Eddy, and a few others (bad me, didn't get your names I think Mike Spieth was one) to some badlands 15 miles northwest of Rio Rancho. It was awesome, thanks for showing us Buggs!
The majority of the time I was there the light was... blah due to the storm clouds. So I pulled out my flash and attempted to illuminate this hoo-doo with a CTO gel on my flash and camera set to tungsten. The effect was cool, but the bluish cast on the landscape behind the hoo-doo out of range of my flash just didn't look right so I 'fixed' it in photoshop.
Strobist Info: Nikon SB-25 at 1/2 power camera left triggered via a Pocket Wizard Plus II.
I knew there wasn't something right.
Late nights, excuses, the scent of different perfume on her clothes.
I caught her red-handed.
Bitch...
"The Church of St John the Baptist is a well-preserved example of timber Gothic Revival architecture, built during the latter stages of Church Missionary Society (CMS) involvement in New Zealand.
"Erected in 1870-1871, the church sits within one of New Zealand's earliest churchyards, and is associated with two previous churches built on the site in 1831 and 1839.
The churchyard and those earlier chapels formed an integral part of the CMS station at Te Waimate which had been established in 1830 as the first inland mission in New Zealand.
The station was important for conveying new ideas on farming, education and religion to Maori in the Far North, and subsequently witnessed an early signing of the Treaty of Waitangi on the 10th February 1840." ***
However...
It should be noted that whilst the hopes and dreams of the Rev'd Samuel Marsden and the London-based CMS might have been good, the cold hard 'crunch' is that as European settlement of New Zealand picked up speed, disease, greed, cheating and lies led to major breakdowns and ultimately bloody wars between Settlers and Maori.
The Treaty Of Waitangi might have promised much for Maori, but there were two versions of the document - one in English, the other in Maori - and they differed quite considerably...!
There isn't the time or the space to detail what went so wrong, but some of the wrongs are still being settled with financial grants to affected Tribes to this day...!

For those of you who don't know, "cheaters" is a rather ancient term for sunglasses. So of course I am familiar with it. 😜
Daisy is really enjoying the new prescription sunglasses I got for her online. If you are looking for cheap but decent quality glasses (or sunglasses) you really can't beat "Zenni". By all means, check 'em out. 😊💖

Honey bee on runner bean flower - robbing the nectar and avoiding any pollination duty
The honey bees utilise the holes in the tube of the flower to get the nectar. My runner beans set pods well so I wont get cross with my bees.
I dont think the honey bees are capable of making the holes themselves but they are very quick to find the holes made by others (probably bumble bees make the holes I think)

The wonders of rail photography in the digital information age:
While sitting at the kitchen table during the Saturday lunch hour, I happened to spot a "heads up" post on a Facebook railroad group from hours earlier about an unusual BNSF lashup leading a road train in northwestern Illinois bound for the Twin Cities. Using followup location postings I was able to form a rough ETA on the nearby St. Croix sub. I then finished lunch, loaded up the kids and we set out to stake out a spot to intercept it for a photo. Within the hour I was able to bag this GALNTW manifest, led by a former Santa Fe "Bluebonnet" GP50.
BNSF 3167 was built as the ATSF 3814 in Febuary 1981.
