In recent months, following the activation of all Siemens Chargers on the West Coast, the F59s have started to make random appearances on the Empire Builder, including this one, Surfliner F59PHi #463, which will trail second out on the #7 back to Seattle. In a few more years, this unit will become a permanent resident.

Used photoshop to create this shot. I really wanted it to have more clubs in the shot considering the 7D is supposed to be able to fire 8 shots per second.
I guess I will try it again with higher ISO to try and increase the speed of the shutter.
I still like it though.

I found this crab spider sitting in a thistle and waiting for prey. What me amazed is the fact that she tries to hold her legs in the same way as the thistle needles. Interesting form of mimicry isnt it? Not to forget the fact that she is a really masterful fakir. ;o)

We don't have the heart to make R stay on leash absolutely constantly until his surgery so we "cheat" and let him run a bit. The top canine elbow surgeon is in New England, and he's flying out here to operate on R in April (no firm date set). R will have new articular surfaces implanted in his elbow. It's an "end game" salvage procedure because all of the cartilage is gone due to a congenital defect. Anyway, we are doing are best to balance managing R's elbow and managing his spirit! That's why he's running in the snow in this photo!
