The tallest building in Indianapolis has had various names over the years. At the time this image was made in 2011, it was known as Chase Tower. (Scanned from a slide)
Apart from some people, and one dog, the only thing I miss about the Midlands is Cannock Chase. It's a wonderful place. Colin's oak picture reminded me of this.
We saw this amazing bright double rainbow when driving back home from our trip. By the time we found somewhere to park the rainbow & light was fading fast.
I waited for a few minutes to see if the rainbow would re-appear again, no rainbow but wonderful light and awesome clouds. The clouds almost look like they are trying to form into mammatus clouds.
Cessna Citation G-CGOA was employed as a chase plane to photograph DC-10 S2-ACR on its penultimate passenger flight.
I arrived at Monte Sano at my usual hour-before-sunrise time. There was actually a beautiful dawn breaking. The clouds were already lighting up. I managed to get one frame in before the fog blew in and covered the sky. So there was no sunrise worth photographing but I knew the Sun was shining on the rest of the world.
After sunrise, I always walk a couple of miles — usually up the Bankhead Trail (back to the overlook) at then back down the mountain. I made it all the way back up the mountain and still the fog shrouded the mountain. I was halfway back down the mountain (by Oscar) when the Sun finally broke through the fog.
Chasing godbeams is usually frustrating. They come and go so fast. But not these. I got to photograph three different scenes with these and spent about 15 minutes at each location. (You can see how high the Sun is.) It was the best display I’ve seen since I moved here 4 years ago.

Taking my bicycle around Barr Lake St. Pk. I'd spotted a few dear playing chase and it was no easy task to get a few shots.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Seven metres, at 13:54pm on Monday 9th September 2013 off the B827 between Balmaha and Milarrochy on the shoreline of Loch Lomond in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, Scotland. Here we look across the Loch towards part of the horseshoe ridge encircling Glen Striddle. Its eastern arm rises directly from the village of Luss, which is protected by Beinn Dubh and Cruach Dhubh.
Loch Lomond (Loch Laomainn), a freshwater loch situated on the Highland Boundary fault, is the largest inland stretch of water by surface area in Great Britain, at 39km in length and up to 8km in width with a maximum depth of 190metres. Primary inflows and outflows include Endrick water, Fruin water and the River Leven.

Pressing "L" is a good idea
So that little thing flying up there, I made that. For my 3D fundamentals in art class last semester we had to bring in an organic form (basically a fruit or vegetable) then make it out of clay, abstract it, then carve it out of plaster. I wanted to pick something completely random and brought a ginger root, which is already probably the most abstract thing ever. Everyone else's plaster was more or less recognizable as a lemon or a squash or what ever. Not mine. Ginger root is probably the most random thing ever.
Anyway I wanted to do a levetation with my butterfly net chasing after a "dream." I was trying to think of something relatively small and abstract to represent the "dream" and decided to use my ginger root. I also wanted it to be kind of clouded so I grabbed some flour for the heck of it. Throwing flour into the wind is lots of fun and you can make awesome looking clouds! Unfortunatley in the location where i had shot everything else the camera was down wind so it was getting floury so I had to move a bit which is why the sky is all wonky. I fixed it the best I had the patience for. I am pleased.

This young elephant seemed to have a lot of fun chasing birds and especially egyptian geese who were somehow crossing his path. Despite his large masses he was able to change direction fast. I love the way his rear legs cross.

Chasing
present participle of chase (verb)
1. pursue in order to catch or catch up with: "cat chased the camera"
Had a wonderful visit with my grandparents the other day. Before heading up to the family pond to fish for a little while, I popped in on my 91-year-old grandfather to let him know that we'd be back to visit him in about an hour.
"I'm awful glad to see you. I was feeling pretty lonely today."
I imagine he feels that way often. It's been ten years since my grandmother passed away. And they were so in love. I know how much I miss her everyday, so I can imagine how much space is in his heart.
So, after running through the woods and throwing rocks in the pond with the little guy for a while, I suggested to him that we go down to Great Grandpa's house to visit.
He was off like a shot. Couldn't wait to get down there. He kept running on ahead of me, calling back "Tell me to wait for you, Mommy!" And then he'd spread his arms to the breeze, partially close his eyes, and just run.
There's such a difference between being three and being ninety-one. But I suspect that their hearts carry equal amounts of love and hope and dreams.

One of the first shots I got the evening I was taking a leisurely stroll with the dogs which forced me to go running for my camera. OK, so I'm glad I did. I had bracketed shots, but this was actually fairly easy to process as a single image...the light did all the work! :)
Thanks for having a look!

... a group of my friends & I went camping for the weekend at the highest elevation in NJ (High Point State Park). We spent the majority of the day sitting in front of a swamp in 90+ degree humidity and didn't even realize this view was a quick drive up the mountain.
The heat quickly dissipated up there in the wide open space w/ the breeze & all

"If I lay here...If I just lay here...."
One of the best idea (click), I ever had from my point n shoot :)
And one of my favorite !
Just minute before I was hit by that girl's BF ! :P :P
kidding !! ;0
I see this place from different eyes though (unlike that couple).
With solitude !
If I was there alone, I would have just set down to that bench, and have my cup of warm Chai-Tea, turn my beats (music) on ...and just sit right there, watching that calm water shining and those waves smiling at me...and the reflection of those green lush mountains.... until the sun sets behind those mountains :)
Once upon a time, I used to love this song :-|
@ Kedar
--------------------------------------------------
If I lay here..
If I just lay here...
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden
That's bursting into life
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes
They're all I can see
We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads........

This girl is Chase, short for Cheshire--which she claims her real name is but I really doubt it. It fits her well though, so it's all good.
