Lots of Pokemon goodness variety here. First up on the left top row is a stencil (this one featuring Nurse Chansey), the card the stencil is to be drawn on, and then an unopened package of the front, next to the back that are clones of the packages the stencil kits (and candy) come in. A sample of the candy can be seen in the previous photo.

Another photo featuring the Stencil Candy Kits here.

In the middle on the left is a Pokemon tape dispenser (this one featuring Charmander). What isn't visible is the colorful character-based tape that comes with it. Presumedly when the tape runs out it will take any kind of tape as a refill.

Below the tape dispenser is a hitmonchan pencil topper. Nice. :)

On the bottom row is a set of prism seals featuring many of the Pokemon/Pocket Monsters while next to them are an unopened package of Japanese sticker seals that go in a special Japanese Perfect Album, and a BK character key that came with the burger premium in the Kid's Meal. On the character key is an Action Flipz Card which in turn is on a card which on the back has a character key for some of the finger puppet figures that come in the Nintendo Gameboy candy boxes which it came from.

Other "edibles" here.

About the bead sprite:

760 Beads.

SOLD

As previously stated, I think I did this the same night as Squirtle and Bulbasaur. There were a number of times I got multiple sprites done in one night. Anyway, this was early on in the series, so my colors weren't all available, and I wanted something orange-y, not just red. I've seen other people make Charmanders that were just red, and while that's okay, I think the game and TV show primarily showed him orange. While it looks good from a distance, I'm not 100% pleased with how he turned out and may re-do it.

What my Fiancée calls this Pokemon:

Fire Lizard

Facts & Trivia:

Charmander is taller than any other Fire-type starter Pokémon in any of the Pokemon games. In the first generation, on its sprite and first artwork, Charmander's "back" is depicted as having a small line of spikes. The spikes were not shown in the sprites and artwork of later generations. Charmander also had these spikes in the Pokémon Adventures manga, where the spikes were larger and easier to see. In the first generation, Charmander and its evolutionary line are capable of learning Leer. However, in later generations, this move is replaced by Scary Face. Some Pokédex entries state Charmander's tail flame as "producing steam" when it rains, while a flame of the size of Charmander's tail would normally be put out by rain.

Regarding its flame, its FireRed Pokédex entry states that its life would end if the flame on its tail would go out. However, in the console games, its flame effectively stops burning if Charmander (or its evolutions) is affected by a freeze. Charmander has the longest name of all unevolved starter Pokémon. Charmander may have been partially inspired by the salamander, an amphibian bearing a slender body, short nose, and a long tail; it exhibits other physical lizard-like characteristics. The salamander and Charmander themselves may have been inspired by the mythological creature of the same name, the salamander; fire-spirits who survive in extreme heat or flames, sometimes creatively rendered and interpreted to be in the shape of lizards.

Well this is the big day, the day I go to professor oak to get my first pokemon. I’ve been waiting for this moment since I was three. When I got to the front I saw two other kids walk out of the building. They must have gotten their pick of pokemon first! I rush in to see if the one I wanted was still there. I ask if he still had any pokemon left, and he said he only had charmander. I was so relieved. I said I would take it, and decided to take it out of it's poke ball. He gave me my pokedex and badge case and i thanked the professor and we walked out of the lab. I was so exited to start my pokemon journey.

this is the start of a series of about a pokemon trainer, and his journey through kanto. hope you enjoy

There were little pokemons running around in our garden, time to catch them all! :)

My mom got me this as a really really really late birthday gift in exchange for my DSLite so she could play brainage all the time.

I forgot to take a picture when it was just a lil' snorunttt; but it's still pretty cute.

This game is actually surprisingly fun though. Definitely one of the better pokemon games.

Keep an eye out for any Charmanders, Ralts, and Rotoms in the wonder trade~ I've been spamming it with those instead of bidoofs.

The trip to Vermillion was long, but we finally got theres. We headed to the gym, which was probably the strangest out of all the gyms so far. Imagine a combination of a military base, and an elecltric power plant. That is kind of what the gym was like. I saw troops of men jogging around the base, and men with hard hats fixing wires. Me and Sam went through the mane gate, past the soldiers, into the main building. It looked more of less the same as the other gyms. Same reception desk, same trophy case, same chairs. The gym leader was a large muscular man, with blond Hair, sunglasses, and a military vest over a dark grey undershirt.

"So, you must be the new recruits. Good! I am lt. Surge, I and run this place, now who are you." the gym leader said with arrogance and authority. He spoke with a deep Southern accent

"actually sir, or lieutenant, we're here for a gym battle, were not in the army." Sam said, being somewhat intimidated by him.

"HA! Course not, your way to young to be in the army. Well come on."

He lead us into the ring, which was actually probably the most ordinary of all the gyms. The outside was as it always was, and the inside was just a ring with a metal floor. We told him that we wanted a double battle, and he agreed. We got to our side and put charmander in, and Sam put her cyndaquil, while Lt. Surge put his magnoton and electabuzz against them. Sam made the first move telling her Pokemon to use ember against his magnoton, and I told charmander to do the same to his electabuzz. They bothe dodged and while his magnoton went to the behide of our pokemon, electabuzz but his hands on the ground and used thunder shock. Using the metal floor, a wave of electricity went from the ground and hit charmander and cyndaquil. After elecabuz stopped, Charmander jumped twards him and tried using multiple scratch against ecelatbuzz but he dodged the atack. Meanwhile cyndaquil wasn't having a better time. She was trying to hit magnoton. With a ember attack but it was flying around to fast for her to make a hit. Eventually they back them both against each other and hit them both with a thunderbolt attack from eater side. They returned to there own side as charmander and cyndaquil tried to get up, but then charmander started glowing, and changing. He got taller, his claws got longer, and his head grow out in the back. He was evolving. When the light dimmed he was a charmeleon. Him and cyndaquil went back to there side and charmeleon, hit elecabuzz with a huge column of flame. He learned flamethrower. The blast was so powerfull that it knock out elecabuzz. At the same time, magnoton was distracted by chameleons evolution, that sydiquil had time to attack. He tried to hit him with a thunder shock but he managed to dodge the attack and hit him with a flame wheel attack. It knock him down, but he wasnt out, but charmeleon came and hit him with another flamethrower attack that k.o.ed him fast. Surge drew back his Pokemon, now defeated, and walked to the center of the ring. We did the same, and he gave us the badge. We thank him, but the badge in our case's and left the building, but before we could reach the gate, my cellphone started to ring.

I'm not a Poke-freak anymore, but I still gotta love those pocket monsters!

A random idea inspired from taking a picture of just the Pokémon looking at a video on the computer screen, it's the spur of the moment ideas that are the best.

Part of The smaller side of the Pokéverse.

These are from Welch's 25th series Jelly Jar glass offerings.

I'm not keen on a lot of processed white sugars anymore but these are quality glasses with vivid and durable images (though these are mostly unused having been packed away for years along with most of the rest of the stuff I currently have up on Flickr).

The jars are pretty sturdy too. And chemically better to drink out of than plastics (especially for children).

There's even a lid or two so they can be used for storing unfinished drinks (or foods) or perhaps these would be good for other items like coins, or nuts & bolts, beads, etc.

Koron: "I can wash you, and you will be nice and clean like Flipper! Come on!"

Chiika: "Ah, no need to worry, honestly... I mean, Koron, it's nice that you want to help, but..."

Miu: "Wait a second. Koron, are you serious?"

Koron: "No need to thank me! I'm always ready to help my friends."

...Because I got her in a park where I went to see a performance of "Hamlet". Here, in fact: flic.kr/p/K7bJit The idea is that when/if I ever find a Charmander, it can be Rosencrantz. Heh.

About the bead sprite:

891 / 840 Beads.

One of the earlier sprites I did, I think I put together Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle all in the same night. Looking at it now, I actually don't like it much and if I decide to re-do any, this will be one. I just didn't have the colors I do now, so my choices were limited. Also, the sprite itself is weird. Most of the games show Bulbasaur in some weird pose and then I found this one. After it was complete, I tried looking for a new one and amazingly I couldn't find this one at all. I used primarily Bulbapedia for my image gathering, but I can't seem to find this sprite on there at all.

EDIT: After the redo, I'm much more satisfied. Better colors and a better pose for this prized poke!

What my Fiancée calls this Pokemon:

Little Onion Creature

Facts & Trivia:

Bulbasaur is the only dual-typed unevolved starter Pokémon, with Grass and Poison, in its basic form. Bulbasaur's evolution family is the only starter Pokémon evolution family to have each member appear at least once in the Super Smash Bros. series. Aside from Pikachu, Bulbasaur was on Ash's team for the longest continuous period of time. Bulbasaur appears to be based on some form of Dicynodont, mammal-like reptiles from the Permian period, though it also has features from toads and frogs as well as other reptiles.

After displaying Pikachu, Geodude, Ditto and Eevee at Brickvention 2020, I would like to share the next three models in my growing collection of LEGO Pokemon.

Introducing for Brickvention 2021 Online; Squirtle, Togepi and Charmander!

If Pokemon were real, these models would be the same height as their real Pokemon counter parts, making Charmander the tallest at 61cm high, and baby Togepi only 30cm tall.

Drawing from his Anime origins, Squirtle also has a pair of 'Squirtle Squad Glasses' which it wore as part of a Squritle Fire Brigade.

Togepi is the first model to have moving parts, which are arms on large ball joints. This allows the little one lots of different poses and helps enchance its cute expression.

I get a lot of enjoyment building each Pokemon model, as they all offer new and unique challenges, and you can use such a vibrant array of colours which you might not build classic LEGO models out of.

You can view bigger galleries of last years models on Instagram, with professional galleries of these latest models coming soon!

When I woke up I was stoked. I could tell that we would do well in today’s match. I walked into the gym and waited to get in. the waiting room looked more or less the same as the one in pewter city. I looked at the trophies and noticed that the majority where for swimming, instead of actual pokemon battles. I sat back down before misty came in. she was wearing a bikini, and a bathrobe. She told me to change into a swimsuit before we head in. I went to the changing room and headed to the stadium. The outside was like the pewter city gym, but the ring itself was entirely different. It was more or less a pool with two large floating plates on either side of the ring. I got to my side and put treeko in the ring. Her first pokemon was a staryu. I remember how on my first time here how its water gun knocked out charmander within the first minute. Staryu started the match with a rapid spin. Treeko jumped above it and once it was below him, hit it with a bullet seed. Staryu went plummeting down into the water, and was knocked out. Treeko landed on one of the disks. Misty withdrew staryu and pulled out her seadra. It started by trying to hit treeko with its swift attack. The first one, hit him with some force, but the rest he easily dodged. Then misty told seadra to use surf. I had no idea what to do, but luckily treeko did. He jumped over the large wave and hit seadra with a harsh pound attack. Seadra went flying out of the pool and hit one of the floating disks, but it wasn’t down yet. It swam back in and shot a powerful hydro pump at him. He dodged it with ease and hit him with a bullet seed. When the seeds hit, seadra got knocked out and misty returned him to his poke ball. We walked to the side of the ring and she gave me my second gym badge and said,” wow you’ve really gotten better since we battled last. Good luck with the rest of your journey’. We shook and I left the gym. We were all tired so we decided to start our trip to vermillion city tomorrow.

hope you enjoy

About the bead sprite:

1,251 Beads.

I did Charmeleon and Wartortle the same night in May, and that finished up all the evolutionary families for all the starter Pokemon. My color selection had expanded by then so I like my choices. Usually in the TV show, I think Charmeleon appeared a more red color than both Charmander and Charizard, so that's how I wanted him to appear.

What my Fiancée calls this Pokemon:

Fire Raptor-Headed Lizard

Facts & Trivia:

Charmeleon resembles a small dinosaur with remnants of Charmander's salamander-like appearance. Although its nomenclature suggests commonality with the chameleon, Charmeleon exhibits very few of the major physiologically distinguishing traits of the chameleon. Charmeleon hasn't the specialized zygodactylic feet, separately mobile eyes, extrudable tongue, or the ability to change color like some members of the chameleon species. The few characteristics it does share are the similarly looking snout, a prominent head crest (which resembles a small horn in its Generation I back sprite), and extensive use of its tail. Chameleons have prehensile tails used for climbing and grasping, while Charmeleon utilizes its tail as a weapon.

About the bead sprite:

846 Beads

Made the same night as Charmander and Bulbasaur, I was eager to get the starter set complete. Amazingly, I had enough browns to get this one done, but my blue selection could have been better. Similar to Venusaur, Squirtle's in game sprite had brown for the mouth's interior rather than red, and the same brown used again for eye color.

What my Fiancée calls this Pokemon:

Lil Blue Turtle

Facts & Trivia:

Statistically, Squirtle is the slowest Pokémon out of the three Kanto starters. Makes sense, right?

As a species, Squirtle has been trained the most of all Kanto starters by main anime Trainers, with Ash, May, and Gary each owning one.

Squirtle's family is the only Pokémon family that can learn Bubble and cannot learn BubbleBeam, except in Generation I, where BubbleBeam was a TM. Squirtle is a combination of "turtle", for its turtle-like appearance, and "squirt", which can mean either a verb as in to spray water, or a noun as in a nickname for someone who is tiny in comparison to others. It could also derive from "squirrel", referring to its bushy tail.

A wild Charmander (finger puppet!) appears!
