I staid the night at the local pokemon center before I headed to cerulean city. Once I got there, I headed strait to the gym. I went in cocky and head strong, because of my victory against Brock, and boy did I pay the price. Charmander was beat within seconds. I didn’t really think that misty was a water type trainer, so it easily beat charmander. I went to the pokemon center to heal, then headed in to the woods to train. On the way I thought I saw someone following me. We reached a clearing where I saw someone waiting for me. It was a treeko. The treeko had looked familiar and I knew why. It had been following me. I remember it briefly went by the lab window when I got charmander, and again at the gym. It looked like it wanted a fight. I got charmander out and he hit him with a power full bullet seed, which hit charmander full force. Charmander retaliated with a good ember, but treeko was incredibly agile, and dodged the attack with ease. He went up behind him and used pound, which nearly knocked him out, but managed to stay up, which caught treeko by surprise. Charmander hit treeko with a strong ember attack, which very nearly k.o.ed him. I grabbed a poke ball and through it at treeko. It shuttered for a moment, before keeping still. I picked up the poke ball and opened it. Treeko came out and gave charmander a friendly punch on the shoulder. I could tell they would be very close. We spent the rest of the day in the woods training. When we finally got back to the pokemon center we were exhausted, and went strait to sleep, and when we woke up the next morning, I knew we had the upper hand in the fight today

LEGO Sculpture took me +/- 50 hours over the course of 3 weeks. Charmander is 61cm tall, comprised of +/-6000 bricks and weighs 9kg ( slightly overweight according to bulbapedia). Plates were used in the tail and feet/legs, rest is almost exclusively bricks. Teeth are so-called "fez cones" :-) Enjoy, more of my creations can also be found on facebook

So, I go to a nerd college. (It's glorious.)

The floors are (sort of) organized by majors, and I live below the Arts and Technologies floor (fun group, actually). Anyway, their Peer Advisers assigned everyone a Pokémon on move-in day, and my roommates and I have been jealous ever since.

Thus, we assigned ourselves Pokémon.

However, we had no way of showing this off to everyone. So I decided it would be a good way to practice in Photoshop. (I'm not really happy with the Charmander, but I've run through about four versions of him and I'm sick of it.) This is now hanging outside our door, for everyone to see.

The action lines are from this wonderful person; I got a shitton of 'em. Very useful.

A wild Charmander appeared!

The days are getting colder, daylight getting shorter, and what little shooting time I have is precious. And until the BIG stuff comes back from the lab, here's some stuff from ealier in 2012. ^__^

Now here's a game that a lot of people who know me probably had no doubts about it making an appearance.

Me and Pokémon go wayyy back. In fact I remember my very first exposure to the Pokémon franchise being from "N64 Magazine", they'd do articles on what was big in Japan, and in 1 issue they made a reference to how popular Pokémon was (especially Pikachu) and how it was going to be the next big thing from Nintendo when it came to the west.

When it finally came I was one very very hyped up kid! I think the animé launched in the UK during the summer just before the games launch, although with it being summer at the time I wasn't really watching many cartoons, I was either "playing out" or playing video games, so no TV show or merchandising campaign was needed to get me hooked. It was all about the game's being amazing (as told by the magazines I was reading at the time), so when the game finally launched I was in Electronics Boutique with my momma... Who got me Pokemon Blue plus the strategy guide, and my lil sister Pokémon Red (which my friend DD did the most playing of...although the Pokémon games had waaay too much text and strategy for kids to really understand, and my sister would've been about 6 at the time).

From the start of getting my hands on the game... the "gotta catch 'em all" addiction was born. I got into the animé after hearing some hype from a friend (who didn't even own the game, or a nintendo). I got into the Pokemon cards, and was constantly wanting to have £2.50 in my pocket to buy more cards. I started acquiring random Pokemon merchandise (mainly plush toys, which over the years have vanished). I started to have even more reason to look forward to going on holiday to America in 99 and 2000 because I knew there they were ahead of the UK, so I could get some cool swag that no one else had even seen. I was a true Pokémon junkie, and I don't regret that fact.

After I'd gotten all I could get out of playing Blue (and then Yellow), I spent more time watching the animé series, and trying to build my card collection (to which I was more a collector than a player). Then like a Charmander without it's flame...it died, my love for Pokemon faded. I'd pretty much O.D'd on all I could take, and just couldn't pull myself round to getting excited for the next generation of games (and thus the animé, the cards, and everything else...).

I eventually picked up Pokemon Crystal whilst on holiday one year (as something to play on the plane), and whilst it was a nice familiarity, it didnt do enough to win me back. Not forgetting the times when I'd catch the occasional episode of the animé on TV, and just get Hydro Pumped by a feeling of "things have changed too much". I just figured then that I'd moved on...I was ready to file Pokémon alongside "Teenage Mutant NINJA/ HERO Turtles" and the "Power Rangers" as things I had become obsessed with, but then out of nowhere just seemed to lose all connection too.

...that was until one time in the mid 2000's. Having had a desire to get myself some fresh and addictive games for my Game Boy Advance, I was flicking through some internet reviews, and sooo many places had given Pokémon Ruby/ Sapphire high scores.

So I figured if these grown adult video game reviewers are finding such a deep and fulfilling game experience out of the Pokémon franchise still that maybe I could too. I took the chance, bought "Ruby" and although it took a little longer to grab me, it eventually had me in in a bind, and it was super effective!

Once I'd gotten through the story of "Pokemon Ruby" a short time passed in which I was happily busy enough with many other games. Then things came full circle. Nintendo and Game Freak brought it all back to the roots by releasing "Pokemon Fire Red/ and Pokemon Leaf Green", these were essentially modern day remakes of Pokemon Red and Blue (or Pokemon Green if you hail from Japan). This had me flying "HM02 style" with nostalgia. Seeing all the original Pokemon, towns, gym leaders, mixed with a few new additions, better presentation and some improved/ streamlined gameplay, really sealed the deal with me and Pokemon being back in full time friendship.

From here the amazing era of Game Boy was fading out. Whilst Nintendo had referred to the Nintendo DS as being the "3rd pillar" in there console strategy, the massive success of it pretty much sealed the deal for it being the new era of Nintendos handheld division. Sure we can mourn the loss of Game Boy, or smile over the many many great memories the majority of us have had at one point with one.

Still, Game Boy passing the torch to the Nintendo DS series is a story for a different kind of article. With the coming of the Nintendo DS brought the coming of a new era of Pokemon games. Starting with Diamond and Pearl!

Whilst Pokemon Pearl didn't quite deliver as much greatness as I'd found in "Fire Red", I still thoroughly enjoyed it. It brought in some new minor visual tweaks that were just enough to raise a smile. It brought online trading which was something above and beyond what us fans could've expected to receive (given the generally slow evolution of ground breaking features in the games). Most of all though, it brought us some new evolution stages for some of the originals. Baby versions of Snorlax, Magmar, Jigglypuff, Clefairy, Mr Mime, and more... It kind of shook up the foundations of what we'd of ever expected to see in regards to the Pokedex we had come to know.

Once the Pearl/ Diamond (and Platinum) era was done, it became time again for Nintendo to give in to some fan demands, and extend there reach to others by waving the nostalgia wand. This came with the release's of "Heart Gold/ Soul Silver". They basically went above and beyond delivering the Gold/ Silver era from the Game Boy, as well as mixing in a lot of love from the original Red/ Blue ("Kanto") era.

I invested loads of time into Heart Gold (203 hours last I checked) and I've still got things within the game I would like to someday do, not only is the Heart Gold/ Soul Silver an amazing entry into the Pokemon series that have the potential to eat up a LOT of your portable gaming time, it went that one step further by bringing in the Pokéwalker peripheral. A little interactive pedometer were you could store a Pokémon within (like a tamagotchi) and then take it with you on the go. Still to this day [if it catches my eye from my TV stand] I'll take my Magikarp (don't ask) out with me, and let it count my steps and generate "watts" which I can then use to try and get more Pokemon or items. I only wished the Pokéwalker could have made a return for...

Pokemon Black/ White! As of 2011 this is the latest instalment to the Pokémon RPG franchise and not too mention it brought in some big changes to the blueprints the previous games had set before hand. I'd be a fool to not mention how this game did away with all the previous familiarity anyone had with previous pokémons by making it so the entire main story would only ever consist of you seeing the fresh new Pokémon thes games brought in. It seemed sort of controversial at first (as a long time fan), yet the feeling of not knowing who was great, and going back to liking or disliking specific Pokémon for the most random of reasons gave a feeling akin to the very first time I had played a Pokemon game.

I've not completed Pokémon "Black" (the version I have) yet, but have thoroughly enjoyed what I've played of it so far. The lack of a NEED for you to use 'HM' moves everywhere, the visual updates, some touch ups that made online interactions better are a few amongst several reasons why I'm really digging this game at the moment, and will no doubt put the game down at some point left with a pleasant taste in my mouth and be ready and hyped up to sink many many more hours into whatever the successor may be.

Since I still had some Rit Dyemore leftovers from two other projects (pink from the first Furbies, and orange from dyeing my Charmander), I decided to dye another Furby. I just enjoy dunking these lil' guys into a hot pot of dye.

Next to giving it the orange/pink fade dye, I also airbrushed the beak/tongue/face and eyelids again. I wanted a pastel sunset theme for this one, hence the color scheme.

I also replaced the chips with Coolcat Blythe chips again :)

Finally can properly show off this little Charmander! Charmander was my favorite Pokémon since I picked him in Pokémon Blue as my starter, and I still love him dearly. Really couldn't say no when he went up for sale, even if getting him was...a bit of a hassle. I highly advice not to order from this company, because even though I was lucky many others weren't.

When I first received him last year he, uh, didn't look very good on top. He was this weird light pastel color and just looked like a naked meat baby.

A while ago I finally sat down to finish him up and make him look more like an actual Charmander.

I dyed and airbrushed him for a more fitting base color and painted the little details and eyes. I completely sueded his sockets with leather as well to avoid any scratches and glued the plants into his diorama.

Thanks to ChocolateDecadence for printing the pokeball and making him new eye bases to work with 😌

And thank you to that kind soul on ebay who felted me the little stone for him to sit on! 😭

Charmander - IntoTheDeepDolls Project 2

Most of the balloons were made by Marielle, but the others were made by my sister. I was really surprised when I found out that she drew this one. It's one of my favourites (: She did a really good job on it.

Found an old Charmander mask that my Mom made, I did not know he was a Philadelphia Flyer fan. Fonzie in a festive mood in the background.

Chimchar are based on chimpanzees. Being very agile, Chimchar are able to climb the rocky ledges of tall mountains, where they live. The flames on their rears are produced by burning gas in their stomachs. Chimchar also has a swirl-like symbol on the chest. The flames do not go out in the rain, and, unlike the tail flames of Charmander, those of Chimchar go out when they go to sleep.
