About the bead sprite:
1,061 Beads
Early Pokemon, little color choice. I've been displeased with this one since I took the picture. One of the browns doesn't shade right with the others, and the oranges are too pale. It's more like the shiny sprite version of Growlithe that the regular one. I plan on re-doing this one.
As a fire Pokemon, Growlithe certainly wasn't a bad choice, but I think I remember you had to wait a while before you could actually find one. Oh, and you had to be playing Red version. Unless you chose Charmander to begin with, Growlithe was probably your best bet for a fire Pokemon.
What my Fiancée calls this Pokemon:
Tiger Dog
Facts & Trivia:
Even though it includes the word in its name and is based on a dog-like creature, Growlithe cannot learn Growl. Growlithe can be seen as a parallel to Vulpix. Both of them are Generation I Pokémon whose only evolutionary event utilizes a Fire Stone into their evolved forms. Vulpix is exclusive to Pokémon Blue/Green and LeafGreen while Growlithe is to Pokémon Red and FireRed, Growlithe has a 75% chance of being male while Vulpix has a 75% of being female. Additionally, both can have Flash Fire as their ability, are based on canines (Growlithe being a dog, Vulpix being a fox), and both changed their shiny sprite coloration to yellow in Generation III.

Matching Japanese Pokémon notebook and two-sided shitajiki/pencil board from 1999.
下敷き, literally under-sheet, Shitajiki (Pencil Boards) are used to provide a stiff surface under writing paper (or between sheets in notebooks) and to protect the paper underneath from ink seeping through (a problem with rice paper and brush ink) but also from pen/pencil pressure.
The Japanese boards are usually made from plastics and often richly decorated making them small works of art all in themselves though 2-sided ones were not as common, especially in full color as this one is.
There's also a matching label sticker/seal that comes as a bonus (furoku) with the shitajiki/pencil board. The detail for this can be seen better in the next picture in my Flickr stream.
The fronts of this set are pretty much the same though the pencil board due to its plastic material seems more vibrant, but the backs are different.
The notebook/letter stationery is also full color and decorated two-sided with Pikachu, Togepi, Psyduck and Clefairy (see inside photo).

The last Charmander Gameboy I was working on had to be scrapped because the paint pens weren't reacting well to the glossy spray paint we (my husband and I) we were using. It ended up drying up with huge cracks all over, so it had to be scrapped. This time we went with a matt paint and I did some different artwork for Charmander, and it seems to have worked much better! The art is now complete, and now my husband needs to just fix the internal parts and then I can pick out some buttons and a screen cover! <3

About the bead sprite:
2,232 Beads
A semi-large sprite that was baffling me for a while. The actual sprite from the games shows Golem's plates as shades of green, but I thought that would look dumb. I eventually decided to just go with greys and this is the result. I don't really know much about this Pokemon because I never got him in the game. I didn't have any friends to trade with to evolve Graveler. Forever Alone Face.jpg.
What my Fiancée calls this Pokemon:
Facts & Trivia:
In Generation I, Golem was the only Pokémon the player couldn't even see without trading. However, its existence was implied by a non-player character who had just received his friend's Graveler. Venusaur (if the player started with Charmander) and either Kabutops or Omastar would also be missing, but only Golem was definite.
Golem is probably based on a turtle. Turtles are believed to have the world on its back in myths. (Hindu mythology, Chinse mythology and Native American mythology.) Its "shell" may represent tectonic plates or Earth.
Golem's name probably is a reference to the golems of medieval and Hebrew legend. Additionally, ゴロゴローン gorogorōn is the sound of rolling.

I guess I meant to take a picture of the front of the special candy in the top left. I thought I had but can't find it now... so will have one up soon. It's a hoot though. Apparently the chocolate-like substance in the tube is squeezed out (after heating in warm water) into the mold (with the help of a tiny Marill) which then hardens into the shape of Pikachu or Togepi, and then the confection is put into the cone! The little tiny cone! :D
UPDATE: The front can now be seen here.
Then there is a couple packages of origami papers and some various other Pokemon treasures which include a Japanese diecast Togepi gacha/gashapon swing charm (which comes with a mini-card) and another card that is part of the gum pack series detailed elsewhere.
Other "edibles" here.

About the bead sprite:
2,213 Beads
Uhg, what a terrible Pokemon! SEVEN weaknesses, and I don't remember it being able to learn the uber moves like Solarbeam. Evolved and boxed! Took a while to select just the right colors, but I discovered I had just enough browns and it turned out really well. My Fiancée is really creeped out by this thing for some reason.
What my Fiancée calls this Pokemon:
Facts & Trivia:
Exeggutor and it's pre-evolution Exeggcute are the only Generation I Pokemon to have seven weaknesses. Two of Ash's Pokémon in the anime have evolved after fighting and defeating Exeggutor. Ash's Charmander evolved into Charmeleon after defeating several Exeggutor, with some help from Melvin's fire power. Later on, Ash's Krabby evolved into Kingler after defeating Mandi's Exeggutor in the first round of the Indigo Plateau Conference. Exeggutor has the highest special attack stat of all grass type Pokemon in Generation I. Exeggutor is Tsunekaz Ishihara's favorite Pokémon. He used it all throughout the debugging and testing of Pokémon Red and Green.
Despite what its Pokédex entries would imply, Exeggutor have been seen with more than three heads on multiple occasions. It appears to be based on a coconut tree or a pineapple tree, or possibly the Japanese monster Jinmenju, a tree that grows human heads (that are always smiling).
