Almost...everyday I took a picture out my dorm window.
The point where it went from bear trees to EXTRA snow covered actually happened. It was raining the night before and then it turned to snow overnight :)
Young activists and their allies led a climate strike in San Rafael, California, to demand action on climate change. This community protest took place on Dec. 6th, 2019 and was hosted by the Sunrise Movement, 350Marin, Sierra Club Marin and Sustainable San Rafael.
The event started with the creation of a beautiful street mural in the city plaza, to remind passers-by that “the earth is watching.” Participants then marched to four major banks that are financing fossil-fuel development: Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase and Citi Bank. At each stop, activists chanted, listed each bank’s gas and oil investments and asked them to stop spending tens of billions every year on new fossil fuel projects that are harming our lives.
The rally ended with music and speeches at the city plaza, featuring the lovely harmonies of `Til Dawn, a youth ‘a cappella’ ensemble, and sing-alongs by the Freedom Singers. Speakers from Sunrise Marin and other local environmentalists took turns to protest corporate greed and government inertia and demand a Green New Deal.
GreenChange.net director Fabrice Florin took photos and videos of this climate strike, featuring young activists Naomi Bridges, Katrina Osborn, Sylvia Potovsky, Niklas Ugalde, as well as their allies Greg Brockbank, Bill Carney, Patrick Costello, Marilyn Price and Silke Valentine, to name but a few. These images are freely licensed for worldwide distribution, with attribution (CC-BY-SA 3.0).
This event was part of a global climate strike inspired by young activist Greta Thunberg, with millions of people around the world joining this protest. Together, these climate activists are forming a growing political movement that is committed to changing the world and solving the climate crisis. Stay tuned for more photos and videos from GreenChange.net !

My dear Sir---Yours of the 6th is received. I answer it only because I fear you would misconstrue my silence. What is our present condition?
We have just carried an election on principles fairly stated to the people. Now we are told in advance, the government shall be broken up, unless we surrender to those we have beaten, before we take the offices. In this they are either attempting to play upon us, or they are in dead earnest. Either way, if we surrender, it is the end of us, and of the government. They will repeat the experiment upon us ad libitum. A year will not pass, till we shall have to take Cuba as a condition upon which they will stay in the Union.
They now have the Constitution, under which we have lived over seventy years, and acts of Congress of their own framing, with no prospect of their being changed; and they can never have a more shallow pretext for breaking up the government, or extorting a compromise, than now. There is, in my judgment, but one compromise which would really settle the slavery question, and that would be a prohibition against acquiring any more territory.
Yours very truly,
A. LINCOLN.

For the rest of his life, Ariel Castro, whose name appears on this mailbox at 2207 Seymour Ave., Cleveland, will be receiving his mail through the Ohio Bureau of Corrections. This after he was sentenced on Aug. 1, 2013, to life in prison with no parole plus 1,000 years, after he accepted a plea deal on more than 900 charges stemming from the kidnapping, repeated rapes and imprisonment of three young Cleveland women. Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty said the sentence guarantees that Castro, 53, will leave prison either in a box or container (holding his ashes).

The vending machine forgot the difference between a nickel and a quarter (5 cents and 25 cents) and gave me the wrong change.
Here's a question: where you live, what do you call a bottle of carbonated beverage? And what is the average cost from a vending machine? I call it a soda (or use the brand name), and it costs US$1.50 for a 20 fluid ounce (591 mL) bottle.

"Bebop was about change, about evolution. If anybody wants to keep creating they have to be about change." ~Miles Davis
For whatever reason today i kept thinking about change. And I came to the conclusion Sam Cooke said it best: A change is gonna come. As an adolescent I hated change and everything about it. For the life of me I couldn't understand why the things I loved, the people I loved, the circumstances I loved always somehow in someway eventually changed. When I was younger I used to think, If only I could freeze time to either prevent the inevitable from occuring, or, at the very least savor the moment a bit longer I would be able to deal with the shift... Sometimes, though I've grown, I still stumble upon such thinking. But life is about progression...about growth...about the new. I've grown to accept change for what it is, and for what it is not. Today I step a bit more easily into change, no matter how abrupt; I think because I know now without change I might not have become the person I am today, and I like him a whole lot better than the one I knew yesterday...
