The maples on the lakeside are already beautifully colored.

Courage To Change. Song by Sia

World, I want to leave you better

I want my life to matter

I am afraid I have no purpose here

I watch the news on TV

Abandon myself daily

I am afraid to let you see the real me

Rain it falls, rain it falls

Pouring on me

And the rain it falls, rain it falls

Sowing the seeds of love and hope, love and hope

We don’t have to stay here, stuck in the weeds

Have I the courage to change?

Have I the courage to change?

Have I the courage to change today? (Oh)

Have I the courage to change?

Have I the courage to change?

Have I the courage to change today? (Oh)

You’re not alone in all this

You’re not alone I promise

Standing together we can do anything

You’re not alone in all this

You’re not alone I promise

Standing together we can do anything

World, you’re not alone in all this

You’re not alone I promise

Standing together we can do anything

I want to leave you better

I want my life to matter

I am afraid I have no purpose here

The rain it falls, rain it falls

Pouring on me

And the rain it falls, rain it falls

Sowing the seeds of love and hope, love and hope

You don’t have to stay here, stuck in the weeds

Have I the courage to change?

Have I the courage to change?

Have I the courage to change today? (Oh)

Have I the courage to change?

Have I the courage to change?

Have I the courage to change today? (Oh)

You’re not alone in all this

You’re not alone I promise

Standing together we can do anything

You’re not alone in all this

You’re not alone I promise

Standing together we can do anything.

Have a great weekend!

"Pick up a sunflower and count the florets running into its centre, or count the spiral scales of a pine cone or a pineapple, running from its bottom up its sides to the top, and you will find an extraordinary truth: recurring numbers, ratios and proportions."

Part of the beauty of having sunflowers growing in my garden is watching the minute changes developing every day.

We went back to try and shoot some more of Change Creek Falls. We were successful in getting to a spot where we could get a good view of this part of the waterfall. According to the Northwest Waterfall Survey, the falls drop a total of 345 feet in nine tiers. This is one of the lower tiers.

A slight change of perspective from the epic Grand Canyon to some humble stepping stones that cross the River Warfe at Hebden. With all the rain we have had these stones will be well under water at the moment along with a lot of North Yorkshire

One of my favorite features of Fall colors is constant change - at least until all the leaves are down. In this particular spot, it was mostly orange, which, despite the overcast sky, gave the scene a lovely warm light.

Mit wem säße der Rechtliche nicht zusammen

Dem Recht zu helfen?

Welche Medizin schmeckte zu schlecht

Dem Sterbenden?

Welche Niedrigkeit begingest du nicht, um

Die Niedrigkeit auszutilgen?

Könntest du die Welt endlich verändern, wofür

Wärest du dir zu gut?

Wer bist du?

Versinke in Schmutz

Umarme den Schlächter, aber

Ändere die Welt: Sie braucht es!

With whom would the just man not conspire

In the interests of justice?

What medicine would taste too bad

To a dying man?

What vile act would you not commit,

In order to extirpate vile acts?

If you could at last change the world,

Would you step up and do it?

Who are you?

Wade in filth

Embrace the butcher, but

Change this world: She cries out for it!

Here is shift change at the eyrie near my home in Michigan today, March 21, 2022. The adult on the left had just returned and the other took off immediately after this exchange. It happened so quickly. I was only able to get off a couple of shots, happy with this one. They don't leave the eggs "unwarmed" for very long. I have read that a steady temperature of 99.5 degrees is required for optimal incubation. Their fealty to this process is amazing. No wonder they've survived every kind of assault man can throw at them.

(101/366) I brought back 2 more stones from the Hook peninsula in Wexford to add to my collection of "lucky stones" on the mantelpiece (the flat yellow one left of centre & the purple one behind it). I've 24 in total now, all from beaches in Ireland. They don't seem to be bringing me much good luck lately but hopefully that will change soon & a new buyer for our house will come along. Watching the Tree creepers nest today and it was lovely to see them going in and out , managed to get this change over shot, they move so quickly most of my shots were just blurs !! x

Chatting to fellow photters at the recent East Lancs gala,we discussed how much has changed at this popular location since the line re-opened.This shot was taken from the remaining pier of a dismantled bridge across the line and the cutting was open and bush-free. Now it is completely overgrown and there is no shot from here if you can even get to it !

Wishing everyone a happy start to their year and better days ahead as the days roll in!

The photo is a little symbolic for me for 2022. My sister and family migrated to the US and they left last Christmas eve. The holiday was a little bittersweet for me and parents. We terribly miss them but comforted with the thought that they will embark on a new journey to make their lives better. Perhaps life is teaching us to embrace these changes.

Our city painted in 1857 not long after the first settlers from Scotland arrived. There were Maori here for hundreds of years but they didn't change things so much. The lower picture is about from the same spot and shows how much harbour is reclaimed land but maybe with climate change the harbour will re-enlarge?

Have a good weekend.

I composed this image while walking the shores of Gunlock Reservoir, in Utah's Gunlock State Park, and paying attention to the earth beneath my feet. I was attracted by the pleasing tones and abstract patterns. An example of 'art in nature', almost.

Of course, what I photographed might better be catalogued as "climate change art in nature," as the parched and cracked clay pictured here is evidence of reduced water flows from the Santa Clara River into the reservoir, shrinking its size.

As of January 2025, only 12% of Utah is not in drought. Utah's largest drought section covers southwest Utah, where more than half of Washington County is listed in severe drought to start the new year. Extreme drought has also formed in many parts of southern Nevada, western Arizona and southeastern California nearby.
