My Challenger uses two XL Power Functions motors for power with an up gearing to produce a bit more speed than the straight 1 to 1 gearing I've used in past builds.

Virginia Range horses Rescued ~ round two ~ 2012
This is the first day in a safe pasture after being bought at livestock auction to save them from kill buyers! Kill buyers are those who bid on horses & if they win the bid, they take the horses to slaughter plants in Canada & Mexico. : (
The grease mark number & glued on tag are still on his rump from the auction.
The Nevada Department of Agriculture needs to stop removing our wild horses & sending them directly to livestock auction where kill buyers are licking their lips to profit on the flesh of our beloved wild horses! They really should work with local advocate groups to find them adopters or sanctuary. It used to be so, but currently there is not a working relationship with advocates & NDoA. : ( Many are currently being removed from the VIrginia Range, near Virginia City & Reno areas.
Stop in the name of love. Preserve & Protect our remaining wild horses in the West.
I named this one Challenge, as here he is running over to challenge another stallion. There are some more photos of him in my stream, alone & also with his contender, who I call the "Peaceful Loner".

This really is my favorite modern day muscle car. It looks way better then the new Camaro and the Mustang (Shelby) in my opinion.
Challenger 604 ( msn 5616 ) Never saw this when it flew for Luxaviation as LX-MDA , so a good one for me ; also Ex VP-CFD , C-FEXH . This is the first time I have used my Camera rain sleeve as it absolutely poured down .
Quilt for the Naked Bed Challenge.
The pattern is called Coming Up Roses by Sarah Fielke from the book 'material obsession two'.
Size: King 285cm (112 inches)
The pic above doesn't show the 2 outer borders, will post a pic tomorrow of the final quilt. Finished the quilt after the sun went down!

here's a Dodge Challenger found Sitting in a Parking lot at the candlewood hotel i was staying at just outside of Birmingham...its a Black on Black...(Black rims,Black Car)...while there is nothing wrong with this look..i would have preffered Chrome Rims....i believe this one has the Hemi 6.0 Engine in it.
I was about to set up something completely different when I spotted the pattern on the ceiling.
That'll do nicely ... although I had to take several shots at this as I needed to lay my camera on the carpet so couldn't frame it easily.

“Give yourself an even greater challenge than the one you are trying to master and you will develop the powers necessary to overcome the original difficulty.”
~ William Bennett ~
The quote is perhaps a little too dramatic for this pic :)
This is not my picture, by the way. Kim Klassen provided this pic for her Test Kitchen members so that we can play around with her textures. I came up with 4 versions :P but I think this one is my fave.

Weekly Theme Challenge ~ Autumn Season
Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. All comments and Faves are very much appreciated
The Ferrari Challenge series was initiated in 1993 as a result of a number of Ferrari owners expressing a wish to be involved in racing their cars. The Ferrari 348 was the first car to be chosen and modified to make it suitable for track racing, being designated as the Ferrari 348 Challenge model. As new Ferrari models are introduced the car used in the Challenge series is changed every few years. At the Ferrari Racing Days meeting at Silverstone in September 2017 one of each of the five Challenge cars to have competed in the series up to 2017 was on display in the International Paddock. In 2000 the Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge took over till 2006 and has the 3,596cc F131 V8 engine.I took the photograph early in the morning after what had been a very chilly night and the windows of all the cars were all still frozen. Since 2017 two further challenge models have been introduced, the Ferrari 488 Challenge and the 488 Challenge Evo.
For the Monday Weekly Challenge- RED.
I have shot several pictures of this barn at different times of day. It always grabs me, especially in the morning, this was about 8 AM.

You have to wonder these days what new cadets consider to be “fun.” That was the word many from the Class of 2018 used to describe the Zilinski Challenge Aug. 10 at Camp Buckner.
Squads were tested on physical strength and endurance throughout the challenge while graded on several soldier skills they’ve learned during Cadet Basic Training, like donning and sealing a protective mask, land navigation, assembling the radio and calling in for medical evacuation.
Somewhat a departure from previous Buckner challenges that used Zodiacs to get squads around a short course on Lake Popolopen, this time the squad had to low crawl across the beach and head first into the cold, murky water.
They also low crawled and swung through two obstacles at Marne, and completed three others at the Anzio Obstacle Course.
Perhaps the fun was at the Buckner Parade Field where legs buckled and bodies crumbled after a series of physical challenges. First, the Humvee push—about 300-400 meters across concrete and grass, assumably the best of both worlds. Then, imagine all that was left of the vehicle was one, huge tire. The squad had to push that back and forth another sizeable distance. Pushups, buddy carries, flutter kicks and pullups would follow before they were tested on assembling a swiss seat for rappelling.

Compositionally Challenged week 43 is Fall - While the challenge is about time of year, a I have my doubts that Sharon has a werewolf in mind. My bad. My glad.
Walmart has their Greeters. Not to be outdone, Lowes has come up with their own.
Every household should have their very own werewolf to greet their Trick-or-Treaters. And for only $112.49 (originally $149.99), you can get yours at Lowes home center. It has a motion sensor that wakes it up when anyone approaches. The head and mouth move. It growls, snarls, and howls. And the eyes glow with a green light. When it greeted me at Lowes today, I was surprised - and laughed out loud with glee. What fun!
Some Alien Bees and a 580exii. :) Oh, and a client willing to be at Alki by 5am.
Strobist Info:
580exii inside car
AB800 bare camera left filling in the grill and front bumper
AB800 in large softbox illuminating side of car
another 580exii in small softbox to light rear wheel... but it wasn't firing!
Tree Swing
What tree is there that does not
have a wind of thought?
The felt ease with a gentle breeze?
Or being---
Just happy with some under rot?
Bearing weight with only it's roots
To determine own fate.
Never mind own desire.
I must grow---
Never mind what's dire.
I must grow---
Never mind if its late.
Than ever to retire...
A strong limb must give the child one last swing.

Our Daily Challenge
'A Special Place'
Concordia (Latin for Harmony) must be one of the oldest canyon oak trees in San Diego County. She has what amounts to three trunks that span out over forty feet in length. From the nearby road one naturally thinks that there are several oak trees there. All it takes is going up the path and then entering to the right to see her in all her majestic being. She has been ever so beautiful throughout my four seasons of life.

The complex has a very touching display to memorialize the tragedies of the Challenger and the Columbia.
It was fascinating to step into this particular corner to see pieces that were recovered from both of those incidents.

Crystal Skull Podracer, for the FBTB 2011 Podracer Challenge Building Contest
The non-Star Wars official licensed theme is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull.
The latest technology developed by the Soviet Union,
Colonel Doctor Irina Spalko managed to use extra-terrestrial power from two of the Crystal Skulls of Akator to create the first podracer on Earth in 1957
The Skull engines had psychic properties that can divert all racers in front of them.
Original prototype was to use LEGO Indiana Jones 7626 Jungle Cutter to build a military podracer. But imagine what Irina will develop in her psychic warfare research. So I changed the military green into the psychic blue, but remain the 7626 stickers and keep the 1950s engine appearance.
