Personal background of Hanifi Aydin:
Hanifi Aydın, aged 46 and father of two sons, moved to Berlin from eastern Anatolia with his parents when he was nine years old. Following his secondary school education he worked in a garden centre in Berlin. The new economic possibilities opened up by Germany’s reunification motivated him to establish a company. He opted for professional doner production as this industry was still underdeveloped at the time. The first few years were hard for him, he made mistakes because he was a novice to the trade, but he managed to learn from them. Today he works with German and Turkish business consultants.
Hanifi employs a workforce of 25 at his factory in Berlin-Weissensee. He supplies approximately 100 clients in Germany, Poland, France and Spain. The quality of his products has been certified on several occasions. At the moment he is developing a marketing concept intended to draw attention to the economic significance of the doner industry, which in his opinion remains underappreciated in German society, notwithstanding an annual turnover of more than 2 billion euros.

One of the many conclusions that came out of the microlot study Kim Elena and I did of January 2012 was producer's request for greater recognition of their efforts. Cultivating quality coffee is a lot of work, and it's often, in the case of Valle's producers, a hit or miss proposition.
Thus, recognizing their work and what it means to us as a business seemed like a simple enough task for me to take on. In all, we handed out 34 certificates to those who qualified for the Transparency Contract this year. Pictured here is Corina Huaman Concha.

It is worthwhile remembering that most soldiers in the British Army didn't really have an "army number" up until 1920, having being given Corps or Regiment numbers instead.
This lead to a confusing duplication, that even now can mislead many family history researchers.
In 1920, the vast majority of British soldiers were given their true, official Army Number.
The blocks initially allotted for the Northumberland Fusliers range from 4256001 to 4334000.
If a Fuslier didn't have this number, it was more than likely he had re-enlisted after having previously been in another Regiment or Corps !!

Sgt. Ricardo Recinos a Soldiers with Company A, 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division receives a medal and a certificate after he completed the Oderlander Marsch, June 14. The Oderlander Marsch is an annual partnered march from Kuestrin, Poland to Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany between the German, Czech and Polish armies. Represented by the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, this is the first year that the American Army has participated in the event.
