This currency was entered into circulation 1951-1954 and used in 18 countries on US Military bases. The color and design of this note is really cool and vibrant. I barely touched vibrance. Cropped to maintain Macro Monday size rules. HMM

I was packing all my stuff for the move and dug this out. It's my mum's leaving certificate for Communist Young Group for exceeding the age. Urh... right, but how communist does that look? Classic!
I've never wanted special recognition. Even in high school, I declined a nomination to National Honor Society.
But, the volunteer dinner, held at the zoo on Friday night, was different. A banquet hall filled with people who have made contributions, mostly quietly and behind the scenes, is about community, not self-promotion. Community is something I value.
The volunteer coordinator made this certificate on her computer. It says, "Camera Connoisseur." A token, reminding me that community is happening. I can get into that.

I encountered a banded Caspian Tern at Coyote Point Park last week. It was distant and not a good photo but enough to get the band number to report to the USGS.
Just got the report back today and this bird is about 14 years old, banded on June 26, 2008 when it was too young to fly in Richmond, CA. As far as I could determine researching the longevity of Caspians is that the average is 12 years but the oldest living was 29.

I know, decluttering or neatening can be and often is overwhelming. Especially during this COVID-19 pandemic. My Aide, Heather, insists I make three piles, the third pile being

The group of Snow Geese I saw the other day, one adult female, two immature and one Ross's Goose (possible hybrid). Using my big lens did not allow me to get a shot of the four of them together.
I received the Certificate of Appreciation for reporting the federal band number on the adult female to the USGS today.

"The Renault 5 Campus was a limited edition run‑out model from the final days of the popular French hatchback. This example, registered in August 1995 has had just one owner from new and is showing 113,109 miles on its odometer. It has an MoT valid until August 2022.
"The paperwork includes the V5C, along with the current MoT certificate. There's also the book pack with owner's manual, UK network list, radio/cassette instructions and service book, although this is only stamped up to 6872 miles in 1996. However, there is quite a large stack of history dating back to the early days of the car. This includes an 1995 newspaper advert and review, the original bill of sale and other correspondence with the supplying dealership. It looks like practically every invoice for the car has been preserved, along with old tax discs and MoT certificates back to 1998.
Being original, this Renault 5 does show some signs of its age, including a metal bracket holding the offside rear bumper edge in place."

Aeres University of Applied Sciences (Food, Nature & Urban Green) Almere
At the start of the 21/22 academic year, the new building of the green education and knowledge institution Aeres Hogeschool Almere was taken into use on one of the main roads to Floriade Expo 2022. A healthy, inspiring working and learning environment in an energy-neutral, climate-adaptive and circular building. The design reflects both the sustainable identity of the education of the faculty in Almere and the central theme of the upcoming world horticultural exhibition: 'Growing Green Cities'. 'Green' is therefore an important building block for the new building with different types of green walls, plants and trees, moves through the building like a landscape, from entrance to roof. The greenery stimulates the senses and, as part of the living lab, also has an educational value; students in Almere conduct research into urban food supplies and healthy living in the green city and into the way in which greenery in the school contributes to learning performance.
Aeres is the first school in the Netherlands to go for the Platinum WELL certificate. The abundant living greenery itself has many positive effects on the indoor climate. In addition, other relevant factors such as daylight, ventilation, thermal comfort, acoustics, movement and the use of non-toxic materials have also been optimized. Users can control their own lighting, climate and sun protection for each room. Building performance is continuously monitored and controlled by an intelligent building management system. The inspiring interior is also a translation of the educational vision and sustainability ambitions. The functional and varied mix of learning, working and consultation spaces facilitates activity-oriented education, research and project-based and individual work.
The new Aeres University of Applied Sciences is a smart energetic building with smart skin; Depending on the position and orientation, the facades have different properties. For example, PV panels on the west side also provide solar shading in addition to generating energy. The east side, oriented towards the tree garden of the Floriade site, is completely green and changes color with the seasons. The lively nature-inclusive green roof is both a pleasant living space and an inspiring learning and experimental area. A shaded roof of semi-transparent PV panels protects the students from the sun and reduces the heat in the school. Collected rainwater also serves as a heat/cooling buffer and provides watering for the greenery on and around the building. This saves 50% tap water. In keeping with the sustainable ambitions for the new university of applied sciences, we have incorporated various circular materials into the building, such as biocomposite facade cladding, concrete granulate, recycled wood for the grandstand stairs, decking and outdoor furniture and recycled metal studs for the inner walls. In turn, the demountable design itself enables future reuse of materials registered with Madaster.

Position number three is a privileged position, which tells you that you must understand why you are there.
In many competitions of art, photographs, athletics, etc., this position reiterates that you must attend more about what possibly happened to you, and how you should improve yourself. But this position tells you that you no lost the competition, but that you are a possible chosen to be a winner of the first or second place in the near future.

La posición número tres es una posición privilegiada, que te dice que debes de entender por que tu estas ahi.
En muchas competencias de arte, fotografías, atletismo, etc, esta posición te reitera que debes de atender mas sobre lo que posiblemente te sucedio, y como debes de mejorarte. Pero esta posición no te dice que perdiste la competencia, si no que eres un posible elegido para ser un ganador del primero o segundo lugar en un futuro próximo.

This is an old stock certificate to an energy company. I saw it for sale in a antique mall on a road trip. It seemed good for the theme.

Beautiful and seductive French actress Lily Damita (1904-1994) appeared in 33 French, Austrian, and Hollywood films between 1922 and 1937. Her marriage with Errol Flynn was rather tempestuous and led to her nickname 'Dynamita'.
Lily (also Lili) Damita was born Liliane Marie-Madeleine Carré in Blaye, France (north of Bordeaux), on 10 July 1904 (according to her birth certificate). She was educated in convents and ballet schools in several European countries, including France, Spain, and Portugal. At 14, she was enrolled as a dancer at the Opéra de Paris. By the age of 16 she was performing in popular music-halls, eventually appearing in the Revue at the Casino de Paris under the name Lily Deslys. She also worked as a photographic model. Then a life of mundanity started. When in Biarritz, the Spanish King wanted to be presented to that 'damita dal maillo rojo' (that little lady in the red bathing costume). Lily liked the compliment so much that she kept her nickname and appeared under the name Damita del Rojo. In 1921 she won a beauty contest by the journal Cinémagazine. The French company Société Cinématographique offered her a role in the silent film La belle au bois dormant/Sleeping Beauty (Stéphane Passet, 1922). She was praised for her beauty and freshness in this film. Soon other French films followed, including the serial L'Empereur des pauvres/The Emperor of the Poor (René Leprince, 1922), La Voyante/The Clairvoyant (Leon Abrams, Louis Mercanton, 1923) with the legendary Sarah Bernhardt, and the drama Corsica (René Carrère, Vanina Casalonga, 1923).
Lily Damita went to Vienna to act next to Max Linder in Der Zirkuskönig but left the role to Vilma Banky. Instead, she played in Mihaly Kertesz' (the later Michael Curtiz) Das Spielzeug von Paris/Red Heels (1925), which knew a huge international success. At the time, she was reportedly engaged to Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia, grandson of the ex-Kaiser. Count Kolowrat, the owner of the Viennese Sascha Film, made her a fabulous offer, partly on the instigation of the prince: directors to choose by herself, scripts written especially for her, and ways to turn her into one of Europe's biggest film stars. Thus happened. Lily's films may not have reached canonical film history but they were huge hits at the box office. They included Fiaker Nr. 13/Cab Nr. 13 (1926) and Der goldene Schmetterling/The Golden Butterfly (1926), both directed by Michael Curtiz. The latter film, based on a story by P.G. Wodehouse and largely shot in London, probably contained one of Lily's best performances. She and Curtiz married in 1925 and divorced a year later. Damita continued appearing in European productions directed by G. W. Pabst (Man Spielt nicht mit der Liebe/One Does Not Play with Love; 1926), British director Graham Cutts (The Queen Was in the Parlour; 1927), and Robert Wiene (Die Grosse Abenteuerin/The Amateur Adventure; 1928).
After several Hollywood offers, it was MGM mogul Sam Goldwyn who took Lily Damita to California to perform in The Rescue (Herbert Brenon, 1929) with Ronald Colman, and The Bridge of San Luis Rey (1929, Charles Brabin), which were rather tedious. Things went better when Lily played a siren of the tropics in The Cock-Eyed World (Raoul Walsh, 1929) opposite Victor McLaglen. In the meantime, sound cinema had arrived. Lily didn't master English too well, so she was put in French versions of American films before dubbing became normal. She was cast with the young Gary Cooper in the early western Fighting Caravans (Otto Brower, David Burton, 1931), and with the young Laurence Olivier in Friends and Lovers (Victor Schertzinger, 1931). She returned to France and played a young adventuress in On a Vole un Homme/Man Stolen (1933) from the great Max Ophüls. According to Hal Erickson at All Movie, this lighthearted romance was "gorgeously photographed on the French Riviera and other such eye-catching locations". On a Vole un Homme was the first of a brace of films produced in France by Erich Pommer on behalf of Hollywood's Fox Films. In 1935 Lily married an unknown actor who would become Hollywood's biggest box office attraction, Errol Flynn. She reportedly retired without complaints, but their marriage was rather tempestuous, hit the press, and finished in divorce in 1942. In 1970, their only son Sean Flynn, a 28 years old photojournalist for Time Magazine and a dead ringer for his father, went missing in Cambodia during the Vietnam war. He was captured by Khmer Rouge guerrillas. In spite of the huge investments by Lily, he was never found and in 1984 he was declared legally dead. Lily married three times, the last time to retired dairy owner Allen Loomis (1962-1983). All three marriages ended in a divorce. In 1994, Lily Damita died of Alzheimer's disease in Palm Beach, Florida, aged 89. In March 2010 media reported that remains, that may be those of Sean Flynn (1941-1970), have been found in a mass grave in Cambodia. Tests were scheduled to be conducted on the jaw and femur bone found and were handed over to the U.S. embassy in Phnom Penh. However, the results, released 30 June 2010, by JPAC, showed the remains were not those of Sean Flynn.
