I’d been tipped off a few months ago about The Celestial Dawn, a boat wreck off the Flyde coast. I assumed that it would have been salvaged by the time lock-down had eased enough for me to track it down and pay it a visit.....

The Celestial Barracuda is an exploration vessel that was created to explore the universe. Once it was done with that, it's technology had evolved to allow it interdimensional travel.

Now it is an interdimensional transport ship for the greater good. It is used to find new homes for civilizations who lost their home planets.

This year, I finally found the time to build a SHIP for SHIPtember. I am really excited to share it with the world. I had a lot of fun building this thing and populating it with small ships and mechs.

Prints for this will be available on my website here

Vacation picture. Looks like a dancer, with a glowing head.

No editing.

Crisp, cold, alpine air, with tons of stars above the ancient bristlecones, and good times.

Celestial Point on Hurricane Ridge near Sitting Bear Mountain in the Linville Gorge. Looking down the gorge you can see the distinctive peaks on the left of Hawksbill, Table Rock, The Chimneys, and the flat plateau of Shortoff Mountain respectively.

A dazzling Northern Lights (Aurora borealis) show on the evening of October 10, 2024. Here we are looking nearly straight up at the zenith. At times the intensity increased to the point where many of these colors were visible to the unaided eye. Aurorae seldom get better than this!

Finally I had a meeting with God himself, at Þingvellir National Park, south-west Iceland.

Later that night I drove my car up to a high mountain in Iceland, where you have a magical view in all directions. I stopped the car and got out to view the nightsky... Then suddenly I heard someone screaming in the dark night, a girl screaming OMIGOD OMIGOD OMIGOD... In a panic mood I rushed over to the crying girl to save her life from what ever terror she was in... but when I approached her, I realized she was just so violently happy to observe the phenomena of the Aurora Borealis for her first time.

God bless you!

A lone tree out on the white brain rock of White Pocket in the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument with the Milky Way rising up behind.

If you look to the right of the tree you can see Jupiter lighting up a little bit of smoky haze at the horizon.

About two years ago, I took this view flic.kr/p/J9VCkt at Loadstone in northern New South Wales, a location I liked because it had a creek, and was reasonably quiet.

After wondering how I could actually show the train as more than just a streak of light, I set out on buying a bunch of flashes and a lot of experimenting.

I've had this repeat view in mind for well over a year, but being stubborn I doggedly waited for the chance to repeat it. It was only recently everything fell into place. So here is another interpretation of that shot from two years ago, with a whole lot of extra experience. I'm not sure now whether I'm done with this location...

This is a multiple exposure, one for the train, another for the trees, and many, many photos of the stars rotating above.

29 August 2018.

After a couple of years of wanting to make a photograph of the Milky Way from this location, Celestial Point, I finally had that opportunity Saturday night (9/20/2014). Celestial Point has one of the best southerly views directly down the gorge, including Hawksbill, Table Rock and Shortoff on the left, with Wisemans View on the right. Upon arriving at the location shortly before sunset, I was concerned with the amount of haze hanging in the air above the river. Being mindful of the hazards once darkness closed in on this spot, two drops of a hundred or more feet on two sides about fifteen to twenty yards apart, I setup my gear and stayed put not wanting to move around with lights off and step/trip and go into the abyss. Knowing I needed a shot as soon as possible after sunset to have the Milky Way streaming out of the southern end of Linville Gorge. As I sat on that very hard rock, I did use my flashlight’s ‘red light’ to check around my spot and under the boulder beside me for ‘creepy crawlers’ slithering into my space. Did not see any, thank God. Wasn’t much room to jump and crawl around in an excited manner! Tommy White and I started back up and over the mountain around 10:00pm to head up to Price Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway to continue our night shooting stars…
