Cauliflower florets, celery, olives, roasted red pepper, red onions, in a dressing made with olive oil, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, salt and pepper. It's easy, just a lot of chopping!

Actually a Romanesca Broccoli which apparently makes a very good rissotto. Found it in Knutsford market.

Deborah Madison has this recipe for a cauliflower curry which calls for amchoor, or dried green mango powder. I'd tried it before without the amchoor and had found it wanting, but this time (thanks to Arch and Colin) I had some on hand, and it definitely went from blasé to blazin'. Also subbed in some old peas for the snap peas and some spuds for missing cauliflower. I think with fresh, explode-in-your-mouth peas this would be pretty awesome.

I bought a cauiflower at the local farmers' market at the weekend. It's a normal cauliflower, except for being BRIGHT PURPLE. And it tastes like a normal white cauliflower, except that you get a BRIGHT PURPLE vegetable on your plate. And it turns the rest of your food a bizarre, but strangely fun, pinkish colour...

Colored Cauliflower is available in green (also known as Broccoflower), purple and orange varieties. Although it may look different than the popular white cauliflower, the taste is just the same: mild, sweet and nutty. The orange and purple cauliflower are higher in antioxidants than regular white cauliflower.

So, I can't have any starch or sugar for a little while so I used a recipie to make pizza dough from cauliflower. Dude it is true! And it is freaking yummy!

in our organic garden - found hiding in the leaves!

($11.73) - Canadian quinoa, house-made hummus, roasted cauliflower, za’atar salsa, carrots, cabbage, beets, mint, pomegranate, organic arugula, radish, sesame seeds, seed flatbread with lemon tahini sauce.

I've always thought cauliflower (or as we called it when we were kids, cowflower) looked sort of brainy.

This is our first go around with cauliflower. I hope it grows!!
