ODC Our Daily Challenge: Trash to treasure

Today I had been inspired by my flickr friend: losy www.flickr.com/photos/losy/50922227018/in/dateposted/: Don't waste your orange peels!!

Thanks for her great ideas :-)

So I didn't throw the cauliflower leaves, but cooked the leaves for 15 minutes with 1 dl of water, added thym and served it with parmesan

Lunch will be cauliflower cheese - when I took it out of the fridge I realised there was a resemblance with my teapot and its cosy. There isn't a good light today so this has a very high ISO and noise.

I remembered I had a nice photo which was sitting somewhere on my hard drive. It was in the time I only had a Canon Powershot digital compact camera. In fact it was my first digital camera. It brings back good memories. HSoS ;-)

As I was lining this shot up, the girl saw me and tried to get out of the frame, she kinda slid down to where she is, then realised she couldnt escape and turned on a smile. All in half a second.

I decided to make some Cauliflower Steaks for dinner. I just love these. The recipe is so simple and they are so delicious.

Here is a bookend to my lamb weekend. A lamb chop with grilled cauliflower. I have always been a fan of cauliflower, but this is the first time I tried it grilled. I picked up the idea from a NPR Food podcast I heard Friday morning. It wasn't too bad. A little olive oil, a little grill time and voila! Not as tender as I would have liked, but pretty good. Next time I will leave it on a little longer and possibly move it to indirect.

I thought it unusual to see a purple and yellow cauliflower ... and yes, it was a fresh cauliflower and not an old white one.

Congratulations! You're not perfect! It's ridiculous to want to be perfect anyway. But then, everybody's ridiculous sometimes, except perfect people. You know what perfect is? Perfect is not eating or drinking or talking or moving a muscle or making even the teensiest mistake. Perfect is never doing anything wrong - which means never doing anything at all. Perfect is boring! So you're not perfect! Wonderful! Have fun! Eat things that give you bad breath! Trip over your own shoelaces! Laugh! Let somebody else laugh at you! Perfect people never do any of those things. All they do is sit around and sip weak tea and think about how perfect they are. But they're really not one-hundred-percent perfect anyway. You should see them when they get the hiccups! Phooey! Who needs 'em? You can drink pickle juice and imitate gorillas and do silly dances and sing stupid songs and wear funny hats and be as imperfect as you please and still be a good person. Good people are hard to find nowadays. And they're a lot more fun than perfect people any day of the week.
