‘Men will be men’

An interesting capture from one of the parties I recently covered. If you look closely, the image reflects so many shades of men. The thinker, the friend, the poser, the drinkers. What are your views about this picture? Do you agree with me?

Feel free to tag yourself and your friends in the images.

Perfect timing, both to capture the splash and then to move out of the way so that I didn't ruin the camera. As the tied was coming in it would hit a piece of the fallen wall next to the huge pillar. I stood in about 3 feet of water trying to catch the right shot, while trying to keep the camera dry. No post processing at all, just the Hoyo circular polarizer filter attached to the Panasonic 20mm 1.7 lens.

Length 8 to 13 mm. This is a mainly black robber fly, but the front two pairs of legs are mainly orange apart from a dark stripe along the upper surface.

I heard a noise in my kitchen and found this witch rummaging through my cupboards. Since I was afraid that she might bite me, I put on my oven mitt and grabbed her. Let me tell you, it was a good thing I thought of using the mitt; she fought, bit, and screamed like a banshee. I just wish I had thought of wearing earplugs too!

Digitised image from the Town Hall Photographer's Collection - GB127.M850

The Town Hall Photographer’s Collection is a large photographic collection held in Manchester City Council’s Central Library archives, ranging in date from 1956 to 2007.

The collection consists of tens of thousands of images, covering the varied areas of work of Manchester Corporation and latterly, Manchester City Council.

The photographs were taken by staff photographers, who were tasked to document the work of Corporation/Council departments and, in doing so, captured many aspects of Manchester life and history, including significant changes to the Manchester landscape.

The collection includes many different formats from glass negatives, to slides, prints, CDs and even a couple of cine films.

What is especially exciting is that the majority of these images have never before been available in a digital format and therefore have only ever been seen by a handful of people.

A team of dedicated Staff and Volunteers are currently working on the systematic digitisation of the negatives held within the collection.

This album represents the result of their work to date.

This one is from last summer's visit around Europe. North Italy to be more exact. It was a memeorable night and infact the light was magical. I have posted an earlier shot a few months ago which realy captures the light:

Had to clone out a few objects in the distant water and a little tweak on the curves. I did also crop a litte as was a little void on the right side of the shot. Let me know what you think.

Enjoy and thanks for the visit.

I LOVE THE FACT SHE WORE PANTYHOSE!

Three celery green pearls are captured within a handmade copper pendant. The pendant hangs from a sterling silver chain. The metals have been oxidized and buffed to expose a soft shine.
