While on my vacation I shot at the Bodie Island Lighthouse. This was most definitely some of the darkest skies I've ever shot the milky way in. I could see different colors in the milky way with my naked eyes. It was absolutely amazing. But, those very dark skies came with a minor cost....my blood....this is probably also the worst mosquitoes I have EVER seen in my life. I basically took a bath in Deep Woods OFF and they didn't even car. At one point I looked down and had 3 mosquitoes on my leg at one time. I will say that at this point it was well worth it....but if I die in the coming days from some mosquito carrying some sort of disease I would say it was still worth it...LOL

On the way back from Sylvan Lake, I had to stop for these sheds. Not the first time I've had to do that in this particular spot. via 500px ift.tt/2GCRC4i

The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is absolutely amazing!! The dark skies are to die for! There is a tower just to the right of my frame which you can see the red glowing on the edge of it. I used two Lume Cubes to light the base and had a little luck with the clouds for this frame. The clouds moved in pretty quickly so I wasn't able to shoot it as much as I would of liked too but it was still an amazing night!!

It was originally built in 1802 but has since been rebuilt then moved from it's original spot. The ocean was only 15' from it's base and it would have been destroyed if they did not move it. I read on the back of a post card that it is quite possibly the most iconic lighthouse in the United States! If you ever happen to be in the outer banks of North Caroline I very highly recommend going out to see it! But, if you do, don't be like the 4 asshole people that jumped the fence to drink beer on the steps of it and leave your cans there. That's on another level of disrespectful and I wholeheartedly wish I had a picture of you guys that I could post for the world to see.....

I haven't put up a shot of the amazingly talented Adam Meachem in some time. I think that's a little overdue, don't you? via 500px ift.tt/2n488RP
