The Legend Of Captain Skeletal Mess (aka Ghostbones)
After coming to America as a young man, Capt Skeletal Mess had great success as a Merchant and a Privateer, and by his early 40's, he was considered among the ranks of the elite....
In 1781 while serving aboard a privateer in the Caribbean, he stole the ship, was elected Captain, and named it Bladerunner.
It is said that he had around 14 wives; weddings aboard ship were common.
He once had himself and several crew members locked in the hold with burning pots of brimstone to see who could withstand the fumes the longest, and Capt Skeletal Mess won.
It is unsure as to what became of Capt Skeletal Mess, legend says his ship Bladerunner can be seen when the moon is full on Friday 13th at a certain location in the Caribbean.
This is for “GhostWorks” Self-Portrait Collaboration here
Thank you to Skeletal Mess for allowing us to work on his self-portrait. The original can be found here

I've just heard that Don Van Vliet aka Captain Beefheart died yesterday, at the age of 69. We all knew he'd been in a bad way for several years (turns out it was MS), but to hear he has finally gone is just... I mean, J*sus, what's the point in even trying to say anything? I haven't felt upset - period - by the death of any public figure - not since Burroughs died... And now...it's like, all the wrong people are dying, you know? And when I see all the sh*t on TV, in music, films, etc., I feel a burning desire to go out and give the whole culture a good kick up the *ss, ya dig? Anyway, that's about it - sorry for posting something so simple (and apologies for not being my usual amusing self), but I'm feeling so exhausted, after all that withdrawal sh*t... RIP Captain.

San Diego Comic Con International is the world’s largest convention of its kind featuring media, movies, comic books, anime, entertainment, video games and television shows. It is also San Diego’s largest annual convention with attendance peaking at about 130,000 people. The popularity of Comic Con has led to it even outgrowing our massive convention center. Events now take place all over downtown San Diego at nearby hotels, PETCO Park and even on the streets of our historic Gaslamp Quarter. #SDCC19 #SDCC2019 #cosplay #portraits #SDCC #comiccon #SDCC50 #pirates

My son's current shoe, the Captain America shoe. Very cool they are too. Made by Stride Rite. I waited until they were a bit worn in before finally getting around to drawing it. This is in the Stillman and Birn Alpha book. I still have to draw this and the previous shoe in his small Moleskine collection of shoes in black and white.

A good friend of mine enjoying the company of colleagues (safely distanced of course) prior to a Royal Canadian Navy promotional ceremony. After years of hard work, training and dedication, he was promoted from Commander to Captain. Congratulations, Kit!
Portrait of a Norwegian ship captain, Jan Ove Fredheim of the Bow Star. He certainly has a Viking look about him.
30 years ago when I started as a pilot it seemed as if half the world's ship captains were Norwegian or Greek. They're still around but there's a lot more diversification in the job.
Its been a while since I have uploaded a new figure well enjoy this one.

Captain Davis charges into the fray. Little does he know that in front of him lurks not 400 Ugokins, but 12 kindergartners of varying species with water pistols. Man, he hates this public-relations stuff.

Assembling The Avengers - Day 4: Captain America
The final day, the First Avenger.
In anticipation of the upcoming Avengers movie I started building some pieces to be displayed at my local comic shop on FCBD this Saturday. Even though I started these around the first of March, I've just managed to get them finished in time and snapped some photos with the help of my Wife.
I wrote an article on FBTB back in October about LEGO costuming and have been experimenting with it a great deal since then. I have many projects in the works and some will probably never be widely seen, but being a Marvel Zombie I could not miss this opportunity to create a tribute to some of my favourite Avengers.
Some info on Cap's Shield from Marvel.com
Captain America's only weapon was his shield, a concave disk 2.5 feet in diameter, weighing 12 pounds. It is made of a unique Vibranium-metal alloy that has never been duplicated. The shield was cast by American metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain, who was contracted by the U.S. government to create an impenetrable substance to use for tanks during World War II. MacLain was never able to duplicate the process due to his inability to identify a still unknown factor that played a role in it. The shield was awarded to Captain America by the government several months after the beginning of his career. The shield has great aerodynamic properties: it is able to slice through the air with minimal wind resistance and deflection of path. Its great overall resilience, combined with its natural concentric stiffness, enables it to rebound from objects with minimal loss of angular momentum. It is virtually indestructible: it is resistant to penetration, temperature extremes, and the entire electromagnetic spectrum of radiation. The only way it can be damaged in any way is by tampering with its molecular bonding.
Thank you to my lovely Wife for taking these photos for me!
And now I'm off to see the movie...
