I know these guys are everywhere in Caliornia making holes and lots of noise, but they are so cute. This guy had his foot up in a position that reminded me of the very recognizable logo on the Captain Morgan bottle.

Clown-faced western woodpecker with a complicated social structure, living in small colonies. Best known for its habit of hoarding acorns: the birds drill small holes in a dead snag, then harvest acorns in fall and store them in these holes, to be eaten during winter. Such a "granary tree" may be used for generations and may be riddled with up to 50,000 holes. Nesting is a group activity, with several adults (up to 12 or more) taking part in incubating the eggs and feeding the young in a single nest.

theme Pareidolia (= seeing faces in objects).

- The hook is 4 cm high.

- I did find this hook in a rather dark place, it was not screwed to the wall but glued.

As the picture was taken with a rather high ISO by low available light, and being no flash user, the result was a bit grainy and flat.

To get a more acceptable result, I used the function 'Chrome' in PaintShopPro.

- Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon that makes a simple sound or image into something far more noteworthy.

The human brain is masterful in organizing visual data into meaningful and significant shapes. It is a way to make sense of random or ambiguous patterns where none really exists.

Some common examples are seeing animals in clouds, monsters in cracks on the wall, or gnarly faces on tree trunks.

Sailing on the Jamuna (Brahmaputra) - BANGLADESH

These guys put 25 lines in the water, quite a bit of work. The lines are spread out over 200 feet at different depths. They use an interesting rigging system to keep the lines from tangling with each other.

Built in Herd & MacKenzies shipyard Buckie 1972. 50 meters long, last big sailing ship built in the U.K. Proud to say she was the last ship I worked on before my apprentiship as a Marine Engineer was completed and I joined the Merchant Nav.

The love of my life

Can you imagine 5100 kilometers away

And there he was

Sometimes you can ask yourself

"Meant to be"

Are these words a cliche

Can this actually happen in real life

And yes it happens

It happened

Meant to be is happening

So lets give hope and light to "Meant to be"

Be in your flow

Be in your intuition

Embrace love

"Meant to be" is for everybody

A full figure bronze statue of Captain George Vancouver stands on the north side of City Hall, pointing towards Vancouver harbour and holding a partially open scroll in his left hand. The figure commemorates the events of 1792, when Captain George, a representative of King George III of England, sailed into Burrard Inlet and charted the area

After many years of struggle against the elements and people full of envy, Captain Redbeard decided to settle down in Pirate Lagoon. He bought a cozy blue tenement house, located right next to the port authority building.

Captain's cap.

According to legend the last Captain of HMAS Gladstone left his cap behind as a reminder of his service.

At the time HMAS Gladstone was gifted navy personnel removed all classified equipment and left the ship as it was at decommissioning.

Everything is still intact as if the crew were about to return to the ship and make ready to sail.

Today the former HMAS Gladstone aka Sad Rock is in wet dock at Gladstone and is operated as a tourist attraction by the Gladstone Maritime Museum.

My entry to Round 1 of the 2021 Bio-Cup, the theme being Media & Entertainment. My subtheme was Comics, and after a couple days of mulling I decided on building the good captain from one of my favorite comic series of all time. Of course, it took me until the last day to recognize my build was faulty and needed to be overhauled. Oh well.

Thanks to Luterem for the touch-up once again. Album not coming unless someone wants to see how this is constructed, because he only looks good from the one angle. :P

“Oh Captain, My Captain”. Who knows where that comes from? Not a clue? It's from a poem by Walt Whitman about Mr. Abraham Lincoln. Now in this class you can call me Mr. Keating. Or, if you're slightly more daring, Oh Captain, My Captain.

--

“O Capitano, mio capitano!” Chi conosce questi versi? Non lo sapete? È una poesia di Walt Whitman, che parla di Abramo Lincoln. Ecco, in questa classe potete chiamarmi professor Keating o se siete un po' più audaci, “O Capitano, mio Capitano”

Captain Blue Star is an oft-overlooked superpowered man.

And for good reason. He can shoot blasts of energy from his hands, but they're barely enough to light a lightbulb. That, and his entire getup is ridiculous.

Ready for action!

The Captain I understand was purchased from the Lifeboat Station at Cromer In Norfolk before being handed on to live with the other bears. The Lifeboat Station is manned by volunteers 24/7 for every day of the year. The Cromer Station was established in 1804 as the Norfolk Shipment Association and then in 1857 it became part of the RNLI. The volunteers from the Cromer Station have been awarded 56 medals for gallantry. It is to their immense credit that whatever they are doing, day or night, these people are ready to save lives at sea. So many people have good reason to be thankful.

It's the 30 year Lego Pirates anniversary in case you have not noticed, like Captain Redbeard who seems to be stranded on a tiny sandbar with his parrot and a treasure chest. Will he get rescued? He will need a big ship as he measures 6x minifigure scale.
