Canvas, a new cutting edge Learning Management System at SFU, engages students rapidly. Roughly 24,000 of SFU’s 34,000 students are enrolled in at least one course using it.
I had a blank canvas spare so thought I'd have a go at a sort of paint mosaic. I mixed PVA glue with white acrylic and then applied in thickly for the 3D effect. For the glassy effect on the blue 'stones' I painted PVA thinkly over flat blue acrylic. Once it dried, it looked glossy :0)

These are the first canvases I stretched using the mighty NateMate™ tool. They are beloved by the Orcs of Moria for their wonderul *doom doom* tone. They are tighter than the jeans of an 80's thrash band.
The green one is called "Sea Green" (I think) and the orange one is "Orange Swirls" a.k.a. "Vomited Paint Thinner."
I hope nobody will notice the boo boo on Vomited Paint Thinner (I mean besides the inaccesible title) but somehow we have to find it in our hearts to carry on and allow more generous bleed in the future.

Figure out what size bag you would like. Then to those measurements add 1/2″ on the left and right side and 2″ to the top for seam allowance and your drawstring casing. The bottom should be the fold of the bag. Notch the sides of the bag 2″ down from the top. Your pattern should look like this.
The bag I made will measure 9″ x 10″ after it is sewn. That means my pattern will be 10″ x 12″ or (9″ + 1/2″ + 1/2″) x (10″ + 2″).
Don’t forget to cut on a fold!
* Drawstring. I used cotton twill tape measuring 1/2″ wide. A pretty ribbon will just as well.
* Large eyed needle to thread the drawstring (a bobby pin or small safety pin will work too)
* Thread
* Scissors or thread clippers
* Sewing machine or thread and needle if you want to hand sew

These are just a couple close-ups of a print Marc just made for me of Takashi Murakami's triptych, "727-727". I was totally taken by it at the Murakami MOCA exhibit in LA, so I bought the book of his work, did high-resolution scans of this piece, and printed it out on canvas. The print is beautiful...
For a sermon series on how God builds us into a masterpiece. Supposed to show a work in progress and maybe something painting-related. It will be made into an insert and graphic for website. For our congregation, 20s-80s. Relatively conservative.
Like the concept but not the execution. Got it Tuesday and has to be proofed and printed Wednesday. Should I start over or are there any tweaks that will make it work?
