Todays challenge for the daily shoot was, Pick an everyday subject and get as close as you can to it. Make a photograph and post it!
I dont actually have many everyday items in my office at the moment as I have packed almost everything away in boxes as I am moving to a new building shortly, so I thought the backpack I carry around to and from work and pretty much whenever we go out anywhere on weekends is an everyday item for me, and thhen got in real close for these shots

Don works all over Winchester painting on commission. The first time I met him, he agreed to participate in my stranger's portrait project. Since then I have often met him by chance and been lucky enough to see some of his paintings developing.
I recently met him near the cathedral beginning a painting which he says will take a further 20 days to complete.
He used to be a keen amateur photographer with his own darkroom and moved here from Lancashire where he worked as an industrial chemist, also an IT manager.

Excerpt from concretecanvasfest.com:
Concrete Canvas is a multi-day visual arts festival where local and internationally acclaimed artists alike gather in Hamilton over one weekend to paint murals live across the city in an effort to elevate the visual landscape of the city while simultaneously inspiring a new generation of artists.
This initiative is in full collaboration and support with the City of Hamilton.
In a similar format to a free music festival, such as Art Basel (Miami), NuitBlanche (Toronto) or Under Pressure (Montreal), Concrete Canvas is a one-of-a-kind self-guided event series that brings the Hamilton community together to celebrate art, music, culture, and diversity over one weekend.
Winslow Homer was among the first artists to paint the modern American woman enjoying the physical liberation and social independence of leisure life. Here,Homer depicts four unaccompanied female hikers on a steep slope in the Adirondacks. This work demonstrates his interest in both dynamic asymmetrical compositions influenced by Japanese woodblock prints, which were becoming increasing popular in the West, and the color effects of bright outdoor light.
