Just trying out the video function on flickr. The audio is horrible. Ignore the goof calling in the squeaky "here kitty!" voice. ;)

(For those that may worry we live on a dead end street with little traffic, so this is safe. He's also a very good road crosser.)

What I believe to be a black-bellied plover (Pluvialis squatarola) calling out during a low tide at Pillar Point Harbor on Half Moon Bay. Anyone able to confirm this id, or have a sure-fire way to tell the different between a black-bellied and a Pacific golden plover?

Went golfing with a friend the other day and had to finish up a roll of film in my Canon T2. Had a couple turn out pretty good!

For the last few weeks I’ve been pretty much entirely devoted to, or I guess obsessed with, Calling Card which is the new short film I’m currently making with all these lovely people. We finally had the last day of filming today after a very hectic period of organising, rehearsing and shooting all the little bits. It always amazes me how much dedication people are prepared to put in and so this is really my tribute to them. We took this literally seconds after getting the final shot before rushing to pack up. I hope now this part is over the editing will be quite relaxed and I can give a bit more time to family and friends again. =]

Oh, and school of course. Eughh..

On an empty station, calling to nowhere.

Since the referendum on Scottish independence political awareness and involvement has grown considerably. Fed up with the dire situation in which many find themselves, two activists called upon those more fortunate to give to their neighbours in need. They called for people to donate food to Glasgow's foodbanks. This is the response.

He spent the day practicing his goose call. In the house. It was a bit painful, but how can I get mad at that face? I just couldn't. He was beyond excited. He and his dad spent the evening together lying in the corn field calling to the geese. It was so much fun to watch!

This a brief moment in a construction workers life in the Kingdom of Bahrain, when he leaves the pressures of work behind to talk to his family back home. For decades, people from the Asian subcontinent have been employed as labour for the booming construction industry in the Middle East states. These workers earn under $150 per month out of which an average of 80% is sent back home to support their dependents which can be aging parents, children or relatives.

I'm not sure when the glossy ibis was first seen at RSPB Ham Wall but it's basically been there all winter and apparently quite content. But now it's breeding time and being on its own at this time is not cool. Watching it (him or her?) through the long lens it was clearly collecting nest material and arranging it behind the tuft of reeds on the left, and calling frequently. It will be in vain I fear :-(

these tiny feathers just will not stay inside the pillow, they like to sneak out and make your dark-dyed pillow case look fluffy and scruffy.
