Cable Beach, Broome. G1X0352

Any audio project has cables, and big audio projects torn down in the middle of the night in the pouring rain have lots of cables tossed haphazardly into a box.

Man, there were alot of boxes. Very handy thing, boxes.

¡que las han cambiado de sitio!

The pylons near my house are having the cables replaced. It fascinated me!

Cable beach is famous for its sunsets, not sunrises, but since I was in the pub for the former, a shot of a still fairly impressive example of the later will have to do.

Read more about the sunsets and moon-rises on my blog.

The Bosc Speaker Cable utilizes a total of 4 conductors to establish the traditional + / - connection needed for each speaker. This geometry allows for large improvements in basic accuracy, while top notch materials and construction allow low level sonic details to be realized. The bottom line is that Bosc Speaker Cables absorb less energy than typical 2 conductor speaker cables. Deliver sound energy where it belongs; to the speakers, not the speaker wire.

As is the case with any audio system, using high-fidelity speaker cables is essential to enabling high quality sound reproduction. Bosc Speaker Cable will help you realize the full potential of your system.

Low Inductance

By utilizing 4 conductors, precisely spaced in a spiraling helix, the Bosc Speaker Cable is able to achieve significantly lower inductance than traditional car audio speaker cables. Lower inductance allows Bosc Speaker Cables to handle large amounts of current, while still giving you all the detail you desire.

Mechanical Resonance Control

The Bosc Speaker Cable has been specifically designed to eliminate mechanical resonance. Internal magnetic fields in speaker cables can cause a cable to vibrate, which distorts the audio signal. The compressed cotton core of the cable in conjunction with the compressive outer jacket is designed to eliminate resonance caused by internal magnetic fields. The end result is bass that hits you like a brick (the way it should).

Highest Quality Materials

High purity, 99.99% pure oxygen free copper, fully annealed conductors are utilized in this cable. You won't find sound-degrading silver-plated copper here. Plating conductors in cables that carry music signals (interconnects and speaker cable) causes frequency smearing due to the skin effect. High frequency information, which gets pushed to the outside of the conductor, sees a different resistance (from being in a different metal) than the low frequency information. While being a problem in interconnects and speaker cables, this is not a problem in power cables.

High quality polyethylene primary insulation gives superb frequency response.

Better Noise Rejection

By utilizing 4 conductors in a spiraled helix, we have dramatically increased noise rejection as compared to 2-conductor speaker cables. Inducted alternator noise will have a hard time finding its way into this cable.

I went for a walk today, not only to walk, but also to get cheap Primark jeans to take to NY for Hannah (apparently there's nowhere to get decent, cheap jeans near her at all - and once something's perfect you stick with it, right?). I went via Hampstead Cemetery and explored a bit, too. It's a gorgeous day outside, as you can tell from the BRIGHT blue sky here.

An overshoot grist mill was built in 1868 by John P. Cable.

John P. Cable built his grist mill in Cades Cove. He was a descendent of Peter Cable, a Pennsylvania Dutch farmer who had arrived in the area in the 1820s and designed an elaborate system to drain the swampy lands located in the western part of the cove.

John Cable was the only person in Cades Cove to use an overshot water wheel, a gravity wheel which harnesses the force of gravity acting vertically on the water as it travels from the top to the bottom of the wheel. Cable Mill's power was supplied by Mill Creek, although a connecting channel was dug to Forge Creek so the mill could tap both streams when water levels were low.

Cable Mill took double advantage of its waterwheel by using it to power saw mills as well. This revolutionized the way homes were built in the cove, as people switched from using logs to lumber and frame construction. The Gregg Cable house still stands as an example of a frame built house in Cades Cove.
