Kyushu Electric Company is putting a new line over the mountains so they have set up a cable system for moving gear. A lift helicopter brought is bringing up most of the equipment.
I once met some guys that work on the lines in the mountains expecting the pylons. They were in great shape!
Cable cars are turned around to return over their route. Car in right image is being turned to climb the hills to return to the Bay side of San Francisco. There was a time when the new passengers could help with the turning. Not so here it seems.

I don't have an actual pattern for cable socks, I'm just adding them in. One thing I learned is that you should be sure to line up the cables that will be continuing over the top of the foot before you divide for the heel. Or you end up splitting a cable between the first and second needles. Which not only makes it difficult to twist the cable (I'm proud to say I still managed it despite this) but it also means that sometimes you'll have to be decreasing at the same time (not actually possible just time the cable twists to coincide with non-decrease rows).
