Days like today really take my inspiration away completely. I started this day thinking on a relaxed and fun photo; but when I got home (I’m still recovering from my flu) I knew that my grandmother is really sick, because her heart has become so big that is blocking and she can’t breath.
today I took almost 200 shots… but was only at the end of day that I sit, relax and say to myself “calm down tata, take a glass of wine and breathe”.

I love these glasses, beautiful shape, feels great in your hand, brings out so much of the aroma and subtle nuances of the wine.
This exquisite range’s name was coined after those 20 initial barrels. Pinot Noir was followed by Cabernet Sauvignon in 1997, Merlot in 1998, Chardonnay - Cono Sur’s first ultra-premium white wine - in 2002, and the latest member of the family, Sauvignon Blanc, in 2005.

this is a rather fine red, although it should be for that price. notable also as having an incredibly heavy bottle.
1999 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Fay Vineyard
Cabernet Sauvignon
750ml
$79.99
The Fay vineyard is the land where the story of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars began back in 1969 when Founder Warren Winiarski tasted Nathan Fay’s 1968 homemade Cabernet. Warren knew, instantly, that he had found what he was searching for—classic elements of fruit and structure, suppleness and balance. It was a style that Warren refers to as “an iron fist in a velvet glove.” As luck would have it, an adjoining prune orchard was for sale. The Winiarski’s purchased the land and planted a vineyard—now known as S.L.V.—and soon after, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars was born.
Compared to the classically structured S.L.V., FAY wines are typically more extroverted and voluptuous, and that holds true for this vintage. The nose is filled with cassis, black cherry, and vanilla. But any expectation that this is just another fruity Cabernet is dispelled when your lips touch the glass and you encounter the wine's full statement of cassis ringed by dried cranberry, raspberry and plum, woven through with a ribbon of rich caramel. Taste again, and the cassis switches into a different key as your mouth fills with jammy fruit and anise, followed by a long finish perfumed with sandalwood and spice. FAY has worked its seductive powers yet again. Pair it with a traditional duck civet: duck slowly braised in red wine with shallots and root vegetables.

WINE SPECTATOR, FEBRUARY 2003
Matthew brought this bottle to share with us. It was probably the best Californian wine I've ever had--very elegant. It went perfectly with the grilled flank steak we had for dinner.
What I liked most was that this bottle came with a beautiful story. It was from Matthew's grandfather's cellar and it was Matthew's grandfather who opened his eyes to the magic world of wine. That is why he became a wine maker. Check out Forlorn Hope Wines: www.ablegrape.com/search.jsp?pi=1&query=forlorn+hope+...

my "company" tonight; Mexican cabernet sauvignon. I find it's a bit too sharp.. it's ok but I prefer it more.. um.. bodied and round and smooth...
Raided the cellar for the dinner, this wine was like drinking history. Still tasty after all these years!
Presentazione di Simposio - Feudo Principi di Butera, nato dall'idea del primo vino 2.0 su MyFeudo.it - CVZ www.myfeudo.it/
A series of various wines! I don't like to edit my photos, the only thing I add is my watermark. But to this one I added a blue-ish filter to the photo and hey presto, it popped even more! The original was a little too dark, tried the brightness and contrast thing, but that wasn't pleasing to the eye... This however I stand behind :)

If you enjoy a good steak and a nice bottle of red wine then grab yourself a bottle, or several bottles, of "Angus The Bull" Cabernet Sauvignon. This stuff is nectar of the gods designed specifically to accompany prime beef.
