I went to the beach by Marineland a while back and took some shots or the goings on. It was a perfectly beautiful day, and the sea at times was very high and glassy. In Flagler, it almost looked like a solid, wall of water approaching the beach, with hardly any wave action at all. It was very unusual.
In this scene, taken on a jetty behind the Marineland grounds, two young women were watching the surfers who were braving the high seas.
I'm waiting for the AC repairmen to come and find out what is wrong with my AC. Right now, I'm not doing too badly, as I have a small window unit in the front room that is helping to keep things a little cool, and a nice, big fan in the family room that also helps. It is supposed to be in the 90's today, and I'm actually pretty amazed at how cool it is. I left all the windows closed, since I figured it would be pointless to let the hot air in while it seems to be bearable in the house, at least for the time being. I just hope whatever is wrong is fixable and in stock so it can be done today!
Just like heat in the North, Without AC in Florida, it isn't only uncomfortable, it can be life threatening for some. For me, it is just horribly uncomfortable and triggers migraine and rosacea, so I am praying hard right now! I won't have another day off for a week!
Update: All is well! It was just a stuck float in the drain that only required moving the little rubber piece down 1/2 an inch! I know what to check next time!

A fascinating shot of Gresley A3 4-6-2 60105 "Victor Wild" departing York with a down express - c.1955.
The fascination comes from the extent of goods traffic in the yard (Branches Yard?) to the right of the "Pacific" and even the roof of the roundhouse which formed part of Yorks (South) shed is visible.
