Khed Brahma to Ahmedabad passenger 52923 departs Himmatnagar under the 5 arm signal bridge. The impressive installation controls the entry to the station and yard however due to the low amount of traffic only a few of the tracks ever see regular use. That all ends today though as the line will be closed for gauge conversion, another of 2016's victims.

#SGLR595 and #SGLR593, two of the shortlines’ multiple rare GE B39-8E’s, ease through the southwestern neighborhood of Arcadia, FL on the DeSoto Turn’s usual twice weekly southbound to Fort Myers. Engineer Scott Mitchell gives his two horses a good warmup to get their 41 car train moving out of town, the units belching thick smoke into the air, as GE’s are best known for. From their location, the Turn still has some 53 miles left to travel before reaching Seminole Gulf’s Hanson Yard in Fort Myers, on top of having to serve customers at Bayshore on their run south.
