BUZZ....... This Lab/Terrier/Shepherd mix (?) is a 70 pound dog and is the best. He is only about a year old and is just a big playful puppy. Just about full grown and is great with other dogs and all people. Loves kids. Great to walk and run with. A fenced yard would be great for Buzz to frolic in. Call Robbie 305-799-1567

Walt Disney World Trip. October 16th-22nd 2011

Dad and I were out driving Sunday afternoon when we spotted a pair of balloons cruising over the town. As we got closer, two more appeared, just having been launched. It turns out that Howell has become a hot-bed of hot-air balloons, since I moved away. They are launched from the high school on weekends when the weather is good. A rally is held in June.

The balloons were cruising over the town at a couple of hundred feet. You could hear the sound of the flares.

We were challenged this week to use "action blur" - to have part of the photo blurred to imply motion. I was pleased with this one because Buzz's collar, food bowl, and feet are in sharp focus, but his face is clearly involved in eating - his favorite activity.

It was a little tricky to do. I put his dinner outside so I could use natural light, then I used the tripod to minimize camera shake. I intended to use the remote so that I could click away as I fed him but (of course) the batteries on it are dead and I don't have spares. So, I had to run back and forth from the camera to his food bowl. Buzz is a fast eater, so I knew if I fed him his whole dinner I would get very few chances. So I just gave him a few kernels then ran back and snapped a shot or two. If I were doing it again I would use a longer lens, I ended up cropping this quite a lot.

Going through some old pictures and ran across this one of my friend Buzz. Sure have passed some great time wiht this man.

We discovered we were sitting right behind Buzz Aldrin, another notable space traveler.

Yes, he is a giant bee.

I bought the new Buzz Lightyear that came out for Toy Story 3 and I was really disappointed to find out that he's got no knee articulation and no glow in the dark paint apps. Bummer Mattel.

His inscription - TH ALBBUTIUS A(rchitetto). This is in a round courtyard...once again the third eye with the wing above. As someone who teaches mainly students from William Smith College, whose founder wanted to create a Spiritualist University with a chair for Madame Blavatsky, i have to admit that I was not touched by that part.

I met Buzz Aldrin at the Cal Academy on Yuri's Night. We watched a 3D "tour of the moon" together. I asked him if he found it realistic. He said it was pretty impressive, but they'd orbited at a higher altitude, so the landscape wasn't in so much relief. Fresh.
