How do I get wild bees and bumblebees in my garden?

Place bee and bumblebee plants in your garden or on the balcony. These are plants with sturdy flowers, such as foxglove, sage, wild marjoram, mint, catnip, petunia, violets, lupine, comfrey, lungwort, deadnettle, foxglove and marmalade. Bumblebees especially like plants with white, lilac, purple or blue flowers. Bumblebees are good pollinators of plants and fruit trees and are of great importance for the formation of seeds and fruits. So also for vegetables, such as peppers and tomatoes. They are beautiful and useful animals, so let them do their thing in peace.

With a little imagination and a bit of humanization of the bumblebees, it can be seen as if the bumblebee on the right is doing an aggressive victory pose over the defeated bumblebee that is pressed down on the left... because that is how humanity (in too many cases) looks at life...😕 but luckily the bumblebees are not people😄. They shared sibling warmth on the flower and the bumblebee takes off to fly away after a job well done... 😍

(The misanthrope in me got to come out a little today😏)

Only 70-200 (without extension tube). Difficult to capture short-time hovering at the right moment, very pleased with the results.

Thanks to everyone for your visiting, favs & comments :).

Lavender's blue, dilly, dilly,

lavender's green,

When I am king, dilly, dilly,

you shall be queen.

Who told you so, dilly, dilly,

who told you so?

'Twas my own heart, dilly, dilly,

that told me so.

A bumblebee lands on a bluebell in the Brakelbos, Belgium.

Met a bumblebee today who did not want to be photographed, but the photographer pulled the longest thread eventually.

A foraging bumblebee (Bombus sp) sticks its head into a Gunnison's mariposa lily, seeking pollen and possibly nectar. The pollen is loaded into the orange sacs, called corbiculae, on the hind legs, for later consumption. Not all of the pollen makes it into the corbiculae- note the tiny white dots of pollen all over the bee body, which may end up pollinating flowers.

The mariposa lilies have had a banner year- I've never seen so many in our area.

Busy bumblebee visiting the flowers of our purple hawthorn tree. It's so good to see the pollinators hard at work once again.

Thank you everyone so much for sharing your quality photos which is a great way to see and keep in touch with the world from home. Also for your kind comments and favours which are much valued.

I am not able to take on any more members to follow or to post to groups. I prefer not to receive invites to groups

This bumblebee struggled to crawl out of the pumpkin flower. covered in pollen I think it spent the night inside the flower.
