Thuya Garden, Maine. Late afternoon. The bee is less than 0.5 inches in length.

We pull loosestrife out before it can spread. This was in a vase on the deck.

After clinging to a flower overnight, this dew-covered bumblebee waits for the morning sun to warm it up.

Was happy that this fuzzy little fellow paused long enough, while enjoying some echinacea nectar, for me to snap a portrait of him. So colorful and brings back great memories of our wonderful visit to Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen where it was taken.

I can't say that I've ever seen such a large bumblebee before. According to my phone app called "Seek," it's a Yellow-banded Bumblebee. It's taking pollen from hyssop which can be grown in a garden and is also found as a wildflower.
