Bumblebee

Thank you all for the visit, comment/faving my photo!1 I greatly appreciate them!! :)

Bumblebees are known

as easy, efficient and reliable pollinators.

These are the advantages of bumblebees:

Bumblebees provide maximum insurance for optimal pollination, due to their high number of flower visits and large pollen transfer.

Bumblebee pollination results in higher yields, better shaped fruit, quality products and faster ripening of the fruit.

Bumblebees are reliable workers, they work 7 days a week from sunset to sunrise

Bumblebees work well under bad weather conditions and in protected environments

A bumblebee on a zinnia flower. From my garden

Managed to take a few snaps in the early morning when this little guy wasn't all that active yet and stayed still long enough for me to frame it up nicely.

Well, really, no nap for this bumblebee, but I was intrigued by the interesting color and soft-looking texture of the center of this flower and the nice contrast between the bumblebee and the flower itself. The bumblebee was very busy thrusting its proboscis through the textured center to get at the nectar underneath.

Gorging on the nectar of a Black-eyed Susan flower...

While I'm seeing some smaller honeybees, these bigger bumblebees are everywhere in my landscape this year.

Hopefully the honeybees will make a comeback!
