Came to the Millennium Bridge with my good buddy Carlos. We thought that we’d get some arty long expo shots of people walking over the bridge. Shame they came out looking like mud. Reckon that the exposures were too long. You live and learn.

It was a tad sunny for classic B&W LE but we had a go and here is one of my efforts. I now wish that I had moved more to the left.

Thanks for all your comments, views and likes. They are all appreciated.

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct was built to carry what's now known as the Llangollen canal across the river Dee valley. The canal connected the industries of north east Wales with the canal network leading south to the English midlands. The crossing made it easier for goods to get from Wales to England. Situated in north-eastern Wales, the 18 kilometre long Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal is a feat of civil engineering of the Industrial Revolution, completed in the early years of the 19th century. Covering a difficult geographical setting, the building of the canal required substantial, bold civil engineering solutions, especially as it was built without using locks. The aqueduct is a pioneering masterpiece of engineering and monumental metal architecture, conceived by the celebrated civil engineer Thomas Telford.

Alfred Street in Bath, built in 1768, is known for its fine buildings, including number 14, Alfred House, which features a famous doorway called the "King Alfred doorway" with a carved stone statue of the King. The street also holds the distinction of being the location where Plasticine, the popular children's toy, was first manufactured in the basement of 15 Alfred Street.

Nottingham Trent University's Newton Building, which also holds The Nottingham Business School and The Nottingham Conference Centre; as viewed from Goldsmith Street, Nottingham.

The Newton building was designed in art-deco style by by Thomas Cecil Howitt, who also designed the Council House (Nottingham's city hall) and the Portland Building at Nottingham University. Construction began in 1956 and the completed building was opened by HRH Princess Alexandra of Kent in June 1958.

Between 2008-2011 the Grade II listed Newton and Arkwright buildings underwent a £90 million redevelopment, and now the complex represent a mixture of gothic, art-deco, brutalist and modern architecture.

This was about an hour's drive outside of Venice. I've wanted to visit here for years, but it seems so strange to LEAVE some place as Venice to go somewhere else… but we finally did and I'm really happy about the visit. This is a famous bridge from World War II and the site of a major battle. You can still see bullet pock marks on many of the buildings.

Well worth the hike to this point in the Langdale Valley great views and satisfaction of achievement.

Great Langdale is a valley in the Lake District National Park in North West England, the epithet Great distinguishing it from the neighbouring valley of Little Langdale.

Although the church may look many centuries old, it was completed in 1930. The architect was Walter Campbell. Or architect… he had no formal training, but that didn’t stop him from creating this intriguing little kirk on the western shores of Scotland.

St Conan’s Kirk incorporates all kinds of styles, and looks like a mash-up of Medieval, Gothic and Alice in Wonderland.

Entering, I’m immediately struck by the crazy charm of this kirk; all these different architectural styles. Campbell was clearly more interested in beauty than consistency. It’s a delightful, divine madness.

In 1961, Citroën began work on 'Project S' a sports variant of the revolutionary Citroën DS. As was customary for the firm, many running concept vehicles were developed, increasingly complex and upmarket from the DS. Citroën purchased Maserati in 1968 with the intention of harnessing Maserati's high-performance engine technology to produce a true Gran Turismo car, combining the sophisticated Citroën suspension with a Maserati V6.

The origin of the model name 'SM' is not clear. The 'S' may derive from the Project 'S' designation, the aim of which was to produce what is essentially a sports variant of the Citroën DS, and the 'M' perhaps refers to Maserati, hence SM is often assumed to stand for 'Sports Maserati'. Another common alternative is Série Maserati, but others have suggested it is short for 'Sa Majesté' (Her Majesty in French), which aligns with the common DS model's nickname 'La déesse' (The Goddess).

La basilique Notre-Dame d'Avioth est un édifice religieux de style gothique édifié au XIVe siècle et situé dans le nord du département français de la Meuse dans l'ancien comté de Chiny. Elle est classée monument historique depuis la première liste de 1840.

Hay-on-Wye, a market town in Wales situated on the River Wye near the English border and the Brecon Beacons National Park, with over 20 bookshops specialising in specific genres from children's books to crime and poetry. Richard Booth opened the town's first secondhand bookshop in 1962, sparking a phenomenon that would lead to dozens of bookshops occupying nearly every corner of the town. In a tongue-in-cheek publicity stunt in 1977, Booth declared Hay-on-Wye an "independent kingdom".
