Trim Street in Bath, Somerset, England is an historic street, built in 1707, of shops and houses, many of which are listed buildings. It was named after George Trim who owned the land. Jane Austen also lived in Trim Street, although her house is no longer there. This was the Austen family's fourth address in Bath, each progressively cheaper and less desirable than the last.

Mann Island Buildings.

Formerly rundown warehouses and dock buildings, the site directly between two of Liverpool's most historic buildings was heavily investigated before numerous proposals for new builds were submitted as part of a competition to create a 'Fourth Grace'. Three proposals were submitted, all of which received criticism for their appearance and contrast to the city's famed historic skyline.

Location

Berlin (Germany): Reichstag's Glass Dome.

Subject

This is the Reichstag's glass dome—designed by the famous architect Norman Foster, following modern ecological principles. The "trawl" you see on the right, is a moving shield shading people from the sun. The bulk of mirrors you see on the left, is a prismatic cone which directs the daylight to the Parliament chamber below—at night, vice versa, the artificial internal light is directed outside, to illuminate the dome. The prismatic cone also contains systems to catch the rain water and the external air. Visitors can walk around the dome on two spiral passageways, coiling from the base to the top of the dome.

I was walking on the beach one night in Bali here at the Ritz-Carlton. I don't remember ever seeing a church or any kind of religious thing at any hotels before… so this one really stands out because of its architectural impact. I knew there was a storm coming, so I went out here on the beach to watch it for about half an hour, trying my best to capture some lightning, and then I did it! As fast as lightning, they say.

The 'Agoranomeion', a mysterious fragment of the past

The identification of this public building is not yet ascertained. It was built with porous ashlar masonry higher than the level of the east propylon of the Roman Agora. A wide staircase leading to a facade with three archways and parts of the north and south walls are preserved.

Located on the east side of the Roman Agora, with a triple arched entrance, it is so far unidentified. Initially it was thought this was the Agoranomeion - the headquarters of the market inspectors - but today it is thought it was possibly a temple dedicated to an emperor or deity.

According to the inscription on the epistyle of the facade the building was dedicated to Athena Archegetis and the divi Augusti (middle 1st c. A.D.)

The Berlin State Opera (German: Staatsoper Unter den Linden) is a German opera company based in Berlin. Its permanent home is the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, commonly referred to as Lindenoper, in the central Mitte district, which also hosts the Staatskapelle Berlin orchestra.

Originally the Hofoper (court opera) from 1742, it was named Königliches Opernhaus (Royal Opera House) in 1844, and Staatsoper Unter den Linden in 1918. From 1949 to 1990 it housed the state opera of East Germany. Since 2004, the State Opera company belongs to the Berlin Opera Foundation, like the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Komische Oper Berlin, the Berlin State Ballet, and the Bühnenservice Berlin (Stage and Costume Design).
