Order: Hemiptera (True Bugs, Cicadas, Aphids, Hoppers, Whiteflies, and Mealybugs).
Size: 4-7mm.
Range: Widespread in North America to southern Mexico.
Description: These insects are active from spring through fall in gardens, fields, and meadows, feeding on the juices of stems, leaves, and fruits of over 200 species of plants. Females lay eggs into soft stems and leafstalks.
I found this bug crawling on out cucumber today. I've never seen this type of bug and don't know what it is.

Leila has been into "A Bug's Life" for several weeks now, so you can imagine how thrilled she was to see a real walking stick, just like "Slim" in "A Bug's Life!"
Not sure what bug this is, but there's a bunch on our pomegranate tree, and only on the pomegranate tree.
Lovely bug in Aperture 1.5.6 on Leopard. Only appears on a few of my pictures, only in really blown highlights, and it may be related to the RAW files on my camera or computer hardware, but it still looks like a pretty obvious Aperture bug. RAW file looks fine in Preview and re-importing into Aperture causes the same problem. Aperture export to external editor (as TIFF) has the problem too.
When we were fishing, all of these bugs were annoying the crap out of us. We thought there were a lot until we turned on our flashlight...then we KNEW there were a lot! The feeling of them all flying around your hand with the flashlight was really weird. Made for an interesting photo though!
