(Travel Bugs are trackable items in geocaching... you move them from place to place and track where they have been.)

About 3:1 Magnification!

Using a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 reversed in front of a 55-200mm@150.

The larger bug here was attacking the smaller shieldbug (hawthorn nymph?) It was eventually dragged down the crack in the wood at the top of the picture, whilst the birch shieldbug turned round and watched. The same type of bug appeared to attack the birch shieldbug (see previous post).

If you want to use this image, ask permission PRIOR to use. Don't be a thief - under most circumstances, I'm quite reasonable.

Some sparkling metallic spots displayed under it's head and thorax.

I was in the kitchen when I heard the girl cry out from the laundry room. "A bug!" she wailed. "Mommy, get rid of it! But, wait... before you get rid of it, will you take a picture first?" Oh, that's my girl!

Note the bug is ingesting a skipper butterfly.

I took this shot aiming up to get a glimpse of the beak (rostrum).

Found walking around the front yard. Shot with a 28mm extension tube and a reversed Nikon 50mm. Stopped down f8 I think.

Not a care in the world - this dragon fly stops, smiles and makes my day!

It's a bug on a flower. Not much more to say except that I like how it turned out.

I did this for my daughter when she was younger and loving A Bugs Life, painted with gouache.

Lit with an SB910 on a tripod over my shoulder and an SB600 on the floor to give a slight backlight. Mini TT1, 2 Flex TT5's and a AC3.

This is an ambush bug nymph. Nymphs come in different color.

Notice the wing buds sticking out from the back. They are hard to see because they are just so small!
