A stink bug checking out some spackle.

The other day, my husband had to break up a fight at his school. One kid bet another kid $5 that he wouldn't eat one of these bugs. He didn't pay up when the kid ate one. Freshman Fear Factor.

OK, I give up! This MSH kicked my ass. There are no scarabs to be found here. No Egyptian museums, or jewelry stores ... or anywhere else I can think of to look, except for the picture in the dictionary and I'm not going to do that. So here you go - it's a bug anyway. Sorry, pedants! :)

Western Conifer Seed Bug

I was trying to get a good macro shot of this flower and these two tiny bugs showed up in my viewfinder. I couldn't resist trying to see if this lens could capture them with good details. I think this is an amazing lens! Still much to learn though but the learning is fun. I used a tripod with this shot but forgot to turn the IS off. So many things to remember and be sure to check. Hmmmm, will this ever become second nature?

This Creature was found in the Gardens of IIIT Bangalore. IIIT-B is an institute which provides M.Tech. Course in IT. Its a hub for lot of birds, Flies, Flowers, etc.. BTW, what is it!!!

While on an undercover mission to try and find out the bugs tactics, I spotted this well disguised bug. He was near Bardstown trying to get into the Bluegrass festival. He tried dressing the part and even had a fake guitar. Nice try bug. SQUASHED!!! Take this as a warning,,these bugs are desperate to try and infiltrate human society. Do not approach these vile creatures. If you spot a possible bug,,contact me as soon as possible with the location so I can get a team on it. Remember, this is our planet. We have to defend it no matter what. More on the last mission tomorrow.

My oldest son is taking part in an Ugly Bug Ball, he's a spider apparently and will be dancing. Today his class have been making and decorating buns, biscuits and no doubt each other so that the ball will have suitable refreshments.

Fat and Happy in Maria's Garden

I found this small bug on the back bumper of my car. I've never seen this type before. It's a bit bigger than a ladybug.

I'm spending this week developing my professional web site (finally!), so I'm going to infill with some of the really groovy bug shots that I got on the weekend with my old friend LP.

It took a while for this cockroach to relax enough to move his head away from his body. For the first few minutes, he was all scrunched up. I thought the definition of his head in this photo really made the shot.

Very creepy viewed large.

Taken handheld with my Nikon D600 for 1/60th of a second at f/8, ISO 1600 with my Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 VR macro lens, using on-camera flash.
