Bernard Buffet

Purely by chance I found that my reserved seat was in the buffet car immediately adjacent to the bar servery. I have to say it was very convenient and brought back memories. Built in the late 50s and early 60s, these were where many of us headed when boarding a train. The modern replacements have none of the pubby atmosphere of these whose 'regulars' were early evening commuters returning home. I am told this particular coach is a Mk1 Restaurant Mini Buffet, no. 1860.

Lunch: Beth's house-mom took us out to the Hometown Buffet after church... we filled our plates with yummy goodness, and walked away with well filled bellies.
What you see here (starting from the top, going around clockwise): fish w/tartar sauce, mashed potatos & gravy, pizza, brussel sprouts, a fried chicken leg, & french fries (that were not worth it!)

There were other parts of the buffet that I did not take a picture of. There was a pastry/donut buffet, a fruit and granola etc. buffet, then they were also starting lunch so there was a lunch buffet as well.
