Taken at Mud Bay, Delta, British Columbia, CA.
My first sighting and shots of this species, and what a handsome bird it is! They are rare on the West Coast.
I hesitated to go out today in search of this bird since rain was in the forecast. So in order to 'get out of the house' I went out in the afternoon contrary to a genetic predisposition that leaves me averse to wet weather. Well the rain held off until after these shots were taken. I parked myself on a driftwood log, and these sweet little birds walked to within fifteen feet of me. The light was abysmal, but this pair of birds accommodated that condition by coming so close to me.

Flooded corn field on cr350 near Wabash River
Gibson County, Indiana
This adult just flew in from the Arctic Ocean and will wind up in Argentina in September. Surprisingly tame; walking all around me, but wouldn't go far as if I was the coolest thing ever saw!

So so weird to be doing this walking tour of streetart in an area that is bizarrely empty of streetart.... the only non-Tate streetart was in the local park, or, like this, buffed
On the Tate Modern Streetart walking tour - an exhibition on the streets.... well, except for the pieces that have mysteriously disappeared... a lovely day out with flickrrs Niznoz, Moufle, Dr joolz and TT... strange going on a graff walking tour in an area that is completely devoid of non-Tate graff.... strange seeing this part of Southwark in its new incarnation of yuppy flats and tourism (it wasn't like that when I was growing up in SE London...), but totally worth getting up at 5.30 am for! And I *never* thought I'd say that ever!
