Dendrites | Soap Bubble Freezing
Today’s subzero temperature (-10°C), calm wind and bright blue clear skies amounted to an irresistible invitation to photograph freezing soap bubbles. Herewith are a series of still images along with a relevant short video I produced 6 years ago showing the growth of dendrites in soap bubbles.

The Grapes of Wrath - John Steinbeck
Do these bubbles make my grapes look angry?
I have been dying to try this technique for a few weeks and just happened to have some grapes lying around. I also did an orange which is in my stream. While editing, I saw lots of room for improvement and I can hardly wait to try it again after I go to the grocery store...
Trying to take photos and blowing bubbles at the same time is HARD!!
At least I got a couple of nice shots.
You will need red / cyan 3D glasses to properly view these pictures.
These are the first 3D pictures I made while trying out different recipes for giant bubbles.
Taken 10 minutes before sunset so it was already getting dark and there was not much time for taking pictures. Nevertheless, I think these ones came out right and are not bad for a first attempt.
Making bubbles with kids is great fun. I'll never outgrow my love of making big bubbles. Looking at life through colorful bubbles that float and carry you away... priceless.
