Honeydew models a dress for Shawna. I have another from this fabric that I need to photograph for Simmi. I'm out of purple flowers (and white too, eek!) so I'm trying to decide how to embellish that one. I need to order new flowers, stat.

Framed display of fabric swatches for Glinda's 'bubble dress' from Wicked the Musical - Auckland, NZ - 2013
On Saturday, Feb 29, Natasha Ferguson made her West End debut in Wicked as Glinda, opposite Laura Pick as Elphaba. What made her show a touch more extraordinary is that Natasha has previously played the roles of Nessarose in the West End, and Elphaba on the UK/International tour. Making her the first to ever play all three Wicked roles. A little bit of musical theatre history made.
I made this dress for little Isabel (size 18-24 months) using the Oliver and S Bubble Dress Pattern. I added little inset pockets to the side front of the dress, this was an experiment and they are a bit low, note for next time. The outer fabric is a feedsack print I bought from a quilt shop a while ago and I don't know it's name, I think the lining is an Amy Butler solid. As always I had a ton of trouble with the button holes (I sewed them 10 times!) This dress was a wearable test for the pockets, I will make another for Isabel Rose soon in blue.

Pocho Print double gauze
The part of the pattern which connects the straps (lining and exterior) was baffling to me. I redid it three times. Not fun with double gauze. And I wish I had used a built by wendy technique to secure the pocket flap. Notes for next time!
My husband doesn't "understand" the concept behind bubble dresses. He finds the hem is a bit awkward.
So, I'm trying to change his mind, lol (this was also done for the KCWC Spring 2012).
I love the construction of this dress and the way it looks on my little girl.
Soft and pretty.
