Early morning bike ride with my wannabe Trioplan with me. With temperatures around 0°C and the sun just about to rise the conditions were perfect for some soap bubble bokeh :)
De-focused apple orchard bokeh...shot with the Helios 44M. Makes your eyes go a bit funny but I like the odd strange image ;-))

These are transparent plastic beads of a (broken) children necklace, each 1,5 cm (0,5905 inches) in diameter, lying on a metallic gift wrap. Lit by a reading lamp and two torches (flashlights). A red glitter gift wrap in the background.
Happy Macro Mondays and Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays!!
And if you don't celebrate Christmas I wish you a laid-back time at the end of the year !!

I got a Meyer Trioplan 50 for my Exakta because everyone says it is a rubbish lens but it produces bubble bokeh. They got it all wrong, though. It produces bubble bokeh but it's a rubbish lens. But it does produce bubble bokeh. Lots of it. Woo hoo.
Trioplans have risen sharply in price lately because of the bubble bokeh hype. But I think that applies mainly to those that can easily be adapted to digital cameras, such as when they had a M42 mount. That does not apply to mine, which has an Exakta mount.
My CZJ Tessar will come back on and stay on.

These Dahlias were so vibrant but I kind of preferred the more muted mono version. Shot with the Helios again...can't remember which one!!!

The sun was low and I had some time to spare between the ultra wide angle shots so I picked up my wannabee Meyer Opktik Görliz Trioplan 100 (which is actually a Diaplan 100 from a projector but it is said to have the same optics as its much more expensive brother) and played around with some bubbly macro shots. This one came out pretty well and as the sun was quite low I had to kneel in the wet sand for the whole shooting set.
A pity I forgot to bring my shorts and a towel!

'My meadow' is full of wild carrots in various stages of bloom. This flower is so incredibly variable that I'm going to give you, dear viewers, a bit of a tantrum with this one ;-).

Defocused trioplan wave...so wild on the beach today. Never entirely sure about defocusing but I just like playing around with ideas.
