Our now sadly missed Christmas tree throwing some nice bubble bokeh. January blues...

This old Telemegor doesn't really focus. It just kind of paints.

A wearable rainbow in the form of a crocheted rope bracelet, made by a friend of my mother's (magrit k.). I also have a necklace to accompany the bracelet but with a diameter of 1 cm/ 0,39 inches (just like the bracelet) it is a little too thick for my personal (neck) comfort.

I've watched a few tutorials on YouTube to understand how this type of bracelet (or necklace) is made, and I should admit that my head was spinning after watching just a few minutes. Crocheting, braiding, or even knitting have never been my favourite DIY pastimes, I'm simply not good at all at this repetitive type of craft. And this style of bead crocheting seems to be super complicated and finicky because the very tiny seed beads (rocailles) are the required main "ingredient". So it definitely was a lot easier (and faster) to photograph the bracelet than to make it ;)

This is a single shot of the bracelet which I'd placed in front of my go-to black foam sheet. The bracelet has a magnetic clasp which I've opened before so I had a single bracelet layer only. I've taken another photo for which I've used the necklace that I had arranged in several layers but that was a little bit too much of a "rainbow colour explosion", plus I also prefer the slightly weird-looking "space worm" shape of the single layer bracelet with the black negative space around. Shot wide open at F/2.8 to get a super tight focus and some nice, bubbly "ball pit" bokeh :)

On May 12 it's ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day: www.cdc.gov/features/cfsawarenessday/index.html

My thoughts are with all who suffer this painful disease, and especially with Maria Godfrida ... may there be a cure very soon 💙

(I am on the road today - so I will catch up later in the evening)

“Life is the flower for which love is the honey.” – Victor Hugo

The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs towards him.

Merry and peaceful Christmas to all my flickr friends!

Enjoy the holidays! 🎄

This is an earring captured by using 0.5X magnification, for the theme "Motion Blur" of the group Macro Mondays.

The earring was still during the first part of the exposistion, and then I moved it away.

The result wasn't what I expected (the ondulated shape of the blur), but I like it anyway.

I hope that you will like the result too, dear friends!

Stay safe and healthy and have a nice and happy Macro Monday!!! ;-)

Fujinon 55mm f/2.2 fizzing away quite nicely.

... somehow : ))

That's a rather new jeans - and there's always some struggling with the buttons the first few times ; ))

taken for Macro Mondays - theme of May 24, 2021: Button

(diameter of the button: 1.7 cm)

I know there will be plenty of jeans buttons today in the pool, but it's one of my favourite buttons - beside the shutter release of my camera and the power button of my coffee machine, of course ; ))

Happy Macro Monday, everyone

(I am on the road today - so on and off for the next few hours - I will catch up properly tonight)

This is a magnetic spinner that I bought to my son some years ago. Its diameter is 6cm. It looks like a space ship of some Japanese anime (such as Grendizer), therefore I used a blue background, trying to mimick the sky.

I hope that you will like the result. Have a nice and happy Macro Monday, dear friends. 🙋‍♂️

This was shot with the lens wide open at f2.8. The lens is known for it's incredible 'soap bubble' bokeh.

This is one of my first experiments with a Diaplan 100mm f/3.5 projector lens.

About Size: the led book lamp has a variable size: its diameter is 1.5 cm in the back part (the part in focus) and 3 cm in the front part. Therefore, including the support, I included almost 7cm of the lamp.

About Image Processing:

I mainly performed these operations:

- I slightly adjusted the exposure, in order to recover the shadows

- I increased the contrast

- I slightly decreased the saturation.

Have a nice and happy MM, dear friends! ;-)

The theme of today is about ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day.

Moreover, I totally agree with the idea of Maria: "... to encourage not only the people here at Flickr who suffer from that disease, but anyone who is in pain, physically or mentally".

Now, about the pic.

This evening I tried several different setups for the important theme of today, but I wasn't satisfied about the results. In any case, I wish to participate. Therefore I decided to share the original coloured version of an old pic, that I shared for "Looking close... on Friday!", where it was in B&W.

I hope that this idea doesn't bend the rules too much!

Stay safe, dear friends, and have a nice weekend. 🙋‍♂️

Smile on Saturday theme Multicolor Bubble Bokeh. The lights on the town square 10 o'clock at night. I'm standing in the middle of the street shooting picture. How many places can you do that. Happy New Year everyone. Betty we'll miss you in 2022.

This is my lucky charm carabiner which is attached to my trecking photo-backpack and is always with me when hiking ; ))

Your are looking at the 1 cm wide screw lock / screw gate of the metallic green aluminium carabiner.

I took this image rather for fun one morning last week (meaning: handheld without tripod, lit with a colour-changing LED light) just to see how the setting would look like ... I kind of liked the somewhat blurry and psychedelic look.

Perfectionism is overrated ; ))

Happy Macro Mondays, everyone ! :))

Einen schönen Montagabend !

Looking close...on Friday theme: Bokeh only

A detail of a little fake Xmas tree (almost 0.3X magnification, I believe) for the MM theme "Celebration", with my self portrait inside the ball (focus is on me). I hope that you will like the result.

Have a nice and happy MM, dear friend! 🙋‍♂️

There aren't much autumn colours here yet; most of the trees are still green or already brown. It looks more like a second spring time as it is finally raining after the very long heat and draught during summer.

Taken with the manual vintage Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AI (the "diva" of my lenses / wide open) for Crazy Tuesday - theme of October 4, 2022: Leaves

I was dithering so much this time as I had taken quite some leaf images during the last week (even some with autumn colours); but in the end "bokeh madness" won the race : ))

I will catch up in the late evening !

HFF and have a great weekend everyone!
