I had this many months in my head and finally it's ready.

Some art from my head.

Brick Fiesta 2013

* A (boring) subject I'm going back to on a more sunny day. Want to get the delicate colors rigth :-)

"Rør & mursten"

* Et (kedelig) emne, jeg har tænkt mig at gå tilbage til en mere solrig dag. Ønsker at fange de sarte farver rigtigt :-)

I like this tree. It stands overlooking a relatively non-discript part of my neighbourhood, yet someone took the time to carefully shape the bricks to fill in this large knot on the tree. I'm not sure why someone would do such a thing but it clearly took a fair amount of effort. Perhaps it was an irrational fear of creatures coming through from the other side of some inter-dimensional portal of sorts... or perhaps it was merely boredom. I'd like to know.

Been playing with flash techniques as well, and I think I'm getting the hang of directing focus where I want it.

I'm becomming much more interested in shooting my own neighbourhood these days, there's so much to notice and not take for granted. A new series is on the way dealing with this...

Flemish Brick Bond: The bricks are laid in an alternating manner of headers and stretchers in a single course. The next course is laid so that the header lies in the middle of the stretcher in the course below. This bond is two bricks thick.
